Grrrr. Qantas keeps changing our flights to Bali and return in November. They've just delayed our flight departing Adelaide to Sydney now arriving 15.25 and Int flight departs at 16.55.

Is this enough time? Well clearly they have mucked up my F Lounge experience.

But making it worse, they keep increasing the gap between arriving back into Sydney and the flight departing to Adelaide - now sitting at around 6 hours - so that is really coughpy. That flight to Adelaide has been extended back I'd say three times since booking.

But I guess thoughts on the connection time into Sydney?

Its a DSC run and MrP and I are booked on separate tickets so changing will be a bit of a pain and we cant seem to do it online.

90min should be fine unless flight ex-ADL is delayed by a fair bit. Not a lot of time for lounging probably, but I think it should be OK.

And of course QF will know you're connecting and it's their responsibility....

I recently had to change flights for me (SYD-HKG) and my BFF travel companion (ADL-HKG) due to similar issues. I rang up and it was no problems at all changing both of our flights home and her ADL-SYD segment; just needed about 15mins on the phone to get it all sorted.

If it suits you, I'd bite the bullet and call up to move to an earlier ADL-SYD flight due to the schedule change so that you can regain your FLounge time and change the flight home so that you don't have to spend a ridiculous amount of time in the T3 lounge.

From what I understand (happened to me) is that QF systems will auto approve schedule changes at SYD provided it at least 60 minutes. It is an involuntary change, call them and tell them you did not approve it and you would like go to SYD on an earlier flight. The shuttle is not as frequent in the afternoon, it only takes a delay out of ADL, a couple of flyers who cannot work out the gates at customs or others that forget to take out the gells, liquids etc at security and your time in the F lounge is further reduced.

As for the return layover 6 hours to connect back to ADL is nuts. As you are doing a DSC run why not ask them for other options via BNE or MEL provided it gets you into ADL earlier than the current plan.

Thanks all - it is for a trip to Bali and only have 7 days anyway so a flight delay to the next day would be a pain. Will call the now.

A strange thing. I was able to change MrP's online to an 11 am out of Adelaide but not mine so I called up and that was sorted. Phew.
I checked on the return flight and it was actually an 8 hour wait in Sydney to come back home. The qantas lady even groaned before I said anything. Anyways, as this was booked in J she could see that both 8am and 11am were a sell out - this far out? She was able to put us on an earlier flight so now ONLY :o 6 hours. We might get lucky before hand.

Always pays to check at the domestic transfer when you connect through from the return DPS flight. THe agents there are helpful and generally seem to have more authority to flow forward passengers, unless on a deep discount fare. Although with two of you and full J cabins you may not be able to. Good luck though and enjoy Bali.

i agree - I always leave a big gap between my international and domestic legs and if all goes well and I land on time I always ask at the transfer desk if I can get on an earlier flight. They are always very pleasant. You might be lucky and some seats have freed up in J on the day.

They certainly do on SYD-CBR and SYD-MEL -- my guess is the ADL flights would also move around a bit so no harm asking.

The weird thing is that the cabin isn't full - I can book seats online - unless they are overbooking.

This Bali one is a luxury Escapes deal and having been multiple times will probably not move from 'the enclave' at Nusa Dua.

I've been told about these Luxury Escapes deals but never booked one. Must dig deeper.
Enjoy Bali Pushka.
