Hi All

This question may have been answered, but I couldn't find it. I am shy 90 points to attain silver. Yep, I know, it is only silver, but better than bronze.

My calculations, have that I need 3 return flights BNE-MEL to get the 90 points required. Buying those 3 flights, at the cheapest possible option means it will cost around $900. To me, that is a lot of money just to gain silver status.

Is there a better option?

Spending $900 to obtain QFF Silver would only be worth if you have quite a few planned future flights that might get you to Gold in the next QFF year. Otherwise, the main benefits of PS could be purchased with your $900. Buying QC membership is better value than PS (in my opinion).

I have QC, so I will not worry about trying for silver. Thanks Spongbob.

If you use Qantas Business Rewards, there is currently a 50% extra SC offer for booking made in the next ~2 weeks flying through to September.

Silver does have some benefits over Bronze, particularly if flying internationally, and even more so if flying in the US on AA. But if you are mainly a domestic flyer, perhaps it would be worth saving the money. Then again, what do I know, I spend almost $3k to get Platinum (my method isn't possible at this stage)!
