Just completed an AY ticketed flight KUL-SIN-HEL-MXP & return, in J class. Finally sorted the AY metal sectors with QF (SIN-HEL-MXP).
However, Qantas will not recognize the KUL-SIN-KUL sectors flown on MH metal.

Quote from QFF:
....unable to credit your account with Qantas Points for your travel from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore on 02 July 2017 with Malaysian Airline and from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur on 07 July 2017 with Malaysian Airline as Charter flights or Industry fares aren't eligible for earning.

The AY fare code for all the 6 flight sectors was ISA2MY. However, these 2 sectors are being treated differently.

Any clues?

Thanks.

Not exactly sure. Here is an extract from the AY ticket & confirmation:

On the first page of the Finnair e-ticket, where the Itinerary is, it should clearly show the Class for each flight

Here are the Qantas earn categories on AY & MH. I class is listed and should earn at Flexible Economy rate on MH,

Flight should be treated as AY I class though as they were codeshares (eg: AYxx_x KUL-SIN/SIN-KUL)... this is the key, if it was MHxx_ in I class then the above holds(ie flex Y credit as stated).
