Walked into the MH Dom lounge this morning at 930am to overhear this conversation (pax I later found out just arrived from LHR that morning)

Pax: I went to my gate and found out my plane (915am flight) had already departed. But I am surprised because I thought I had plenty of time

Lounge angel: makes a few calls, and confirms to the pax her flight had indeed departed

Pax: but why? I thought that domestic flights close much later to departure. And I thought I had plenty of time.

Pax: checks her watch and says - it is only 830am how can it have departed?

Lounge angel: no maam it is 930am now.

Pax: Oh! My watch is wrong then!

Think they are trying to rebook pax to a 1030am flight instead. Should be good.

Always pays to check the timezone when you arrive!

The poor burger - but doesnt the whole world carry a smart phone that auto updates time / date imm apon arr? So much nowadays that regular travellers take for granted - just nothing worse than missing a connection - God I hate that feeling.

Time zones...

Folks who think 1400 is 4 oclock.....

Folks who think 1230 am is lunchtime......

Not everyone has an auto updating smartphone.

Very easy to miss flight in KUL. I have found departure boards are not always up to date in KUL. Make sure you know if flight departs from main terminal or satellite terminal. Head off to gate early or regularly check with lounge staff.

MH DOM flights in KUL (KLIA1) only depart from one terminal.

So there's no choice about satellite or main. And the affected pax was already in the MH DOM lounge.

But I do think many airports should show the current local time a LOT more clearly. It's a fail IMO in many places.
