Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18)

any recommendation for ex-SYD for 600 SCs? i am very flexible on dates, but i want to do this in 1 day or 2. advise?

if you can go adl or mel to chc via syd or bris return in J you can nab 520sc and do it overnight. i booked a couple of those runs but used points to get to mel as i am also in syd

We are doing MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-MEL for 520sc this weekend, its a bargain really.

I'm trying to get my head around the voucher idea, since I have never used one before.

We are in the process of planning the next family holiday, me, Mrs_O and Master_O. Do I need to buy a 3 person voucher, today, for a nominal $50 per person which I can then redeem for the flights once we have confirmed dates?

Assuming the dates we fly are within the timescale for this offer, we will receive the DSCs?

Still deciding whether to book something today. The problem is I already have enough booked to retain WP this membership year, so I don't need a run for over 6 months. Hard to know the timings that far out.

I might do my favourite (so far) - MEL - BNE - CNS return in J run again. Not quite as good value $/SC as the runs to/from NZ but I can do it all in one day in the daytime.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

I'm trying to take advantage of this DSC to book a flight to the US in early FEb'18..am not returning any QF codeshare's with AA, but strangely am being offered UA flights, at a price that is equivalent to the AA prices..

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere - have been away from AFF for a while.

Replying to myself..

Spoke with Qantas. AA have not loaded Feb'18 flights into the booking system, operator mentioned 10months prior as the timeframe..

J flights for me at that time are way too expensive to use to retrain WP for the following year..will hold off for now.

Depending on the airline prices can be extortionate close to 12 months out and then come down to reasonable levels during sales over time (if few have bought seats at the high prices on the flight).

Just be aware you wont get DSC on an AA operated flight...

You add the FF number (and can change names) when applying the voucher to flights.

So far, for me, it has not stopped bonus SC earn when doing so.

Thanks, Serfty. I ended up calling QF and just getting them to add them.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Does anyone know if you can buy vouchers in any other currency besides AUD?

You won't get double SCs on AA metal. QF metal only (apart from EK trans-tasman).

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Unlike last year's offer, AA codeshare flights (QF#/AA metal) across the pacific would not count. QF dropped AA codeshares on most routes as per the issue with the JV not being approved with the DOT in the USA so this is why no AA metal show on the QF website transpacific. (but that is not really relevant to this thread)

Jetconnect flights are eligible as has been noted a number of times in this thread.

Thanks Blackcat & Opusman for the heads up.

Its part of a Booking QF SYD>LHR then BA LGW>MCO then QF#/AA MCO>DFW and QF DFW>SYD, so it does change the stats a bit regarding SC earn.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

So using the Aquire discount would still receive the DSC's?

Dont see why not; its just a QF booking done via the business portal.

Speaking of Aquire / QF Business Rewards. Is it just me or the whole 5%-8% off a bit of a lie. Im trying to book SYD - CHC in J with DSC but its only giving me $50 off out and $7 off back.
Last i checked $57 is not between 5-8% of $1680. Yesterday couldnt do the search, today not even full discount.
I was thinking about doing full J on the return leg since the discount would have helped. But the full J fares dont even have a discount. DSC planning is not going well.

That's not good news. I'll be doing my bookings today, so I'll let you know how I go. I'm a bit disappointed that Business Rewards only give a paltry 5% (for my tier) whereas from memory, I used to get 10% for J bookings under Aquire. Still 5% is better than a poke in the eye, but I don't have an answer for what you are seeing.

Similar issues here - although I'm happy with any discount (as it matches what I can get from VA) - but it won't let me finish the booking, regardless of which access I use (can't get through the same screen on both IE and Chrome). Trying again now at work, to see if it's any different.

I can sign in under Business Rewards, pull up flights and select desired, then I can't get the Options screen to load (sits changing the dots where the flight details I presume would be, above Fare Conditions). Just did a booking without signing in to BR and it's the screen area about point redemption options.

I had this last Friday on IE - luckily for me changing to Chrome was all I had to do

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Has anyone found anything vaguely worthwhile out of PER? Preferably a day or at most do-able over a weekend?

It finally worked for me on Saturday. But i just went to flight centre and use the aquire / business rewards price to do a price beat (by $1) and have the credit card fees waived.

I had spoken to flight centre call centre on friday about it. The person i spoke to said it was the first time they had heard of it (business rewards/aquire) but went and spoke to their general manager who said they can use the discounts. They would need to research and work out how but can do it if i wanted to. This didnt inspire confidence. I called the person i generally go to at flight centre and they just said they can just use it as a price beat if i bring a screen shot or something. Went in and got it all sorted and paid on my amex.

Put in a call to QF ah hour ago and utilised the call back system (44-58 mins expected time). Perfectly in the middle, it rang me back and now chatting to Zoe from the Premium Desk in NZ. She confirmed there had been system issues with Bus Reward booking, but it has been escalated to IT and they advised the CSR team that it was fixed this morning. Well it's not for me :(. She is now trying to see if they can make the booking for me.
