How to change departure/destination airports on-line?

Made a rookie mistake and swapped departure and destination cities around. Can I reverse that on-line (full J tix)? I can see where I can change dates and flights but not airports. Is the only way to do it on line, to cancel and rebook and if so, how do they refund the money ... to a travel bank like VA or back to the same source?

A full J ticket will be refunded to MOP (i.e. you credit card in this case) but I believe you need to call. It can "take 'up to' six weeks" - that is the 'party line', but in my recent experiences it's normally within a week.

You may be able to call and ask for it to be done, but they may try to charge a service fee.

Ok. No biggie. I did it last night. Communication is atrocious where I am and the web site kept timing out waiting so making a number of bookings was a marathon in itself that took forever. I realised what I'd done as soon as I did it, but I didn't have the patience to waste another few hours trying to correct it. Calling is not really an option as the internet is better than voice communication at the moment.

Looks like it'll be cancel and rebook. Lucky the DSC is still on today!

I just recalled there was something (in the past) about an online cancellation going to a 'voucher', even for "fully flex".

For full refund to MOP you may need to call.

I've looked up the QF website FAQ's and they don't seem to answer the question. Curious.

Of course, such a voucher may contain duplicitous properties ...

I've had to cancel a couple of flights which became vouchers. Did this via phone.
Charged reissue fee on reissue.
The departing airport was unable to be changed.
Dates time and destination could change though.
Make sure you use it towards the same or higher fare as leftover amount will be forfeited.
12 months to use voucher.

You can make changes, cancellation same day of original booking for free but there are fees the day after after.

I rebooked the correct airports and took a screen shot of the confirmation page ...



The fare I booked each time was the business member deal of $619
Quite clearly it states for cancellation $0 fee.
The other two fare types do state an $88 fee and the lowest fare also states an $88 fee is also applicable on rebooking (how the hang to they justify that?)

The mentioned "Full Fare Conditions" confirm the fare is fully cancellable with no mention of voucher or an $88 fee.

Which basically states a refund will be less applicable fees, but fails to mention what those fees actually are. My reading of all this is that I should be able to gain a refund with no fees being applicable. Any informed comment?

I suspect the pop up is a catch all for all possibilities


I don't think there is a fee for refunding a Business Fare.

Flex Economy has an $88 (soon to be $99) fee if you want a refund. Nothing for a voucher.

Oops - didn't read the on-line bit.
Why don't you call qantas and ask if you should proceed?

I had BA flights and changed them and it came up with something about possibly having to pay but when I clicked through it said I didn't. Which was what I remembered from the T&C so maybe it's the same with QF? You shouldn't be charged a fee for just asking advice over the phone doing something online. Or maybe you could be at the page ready to click online so you can tell them over the phone what happens immediately?

An update on this for anyone interested.

I did in fact cancel and rebook and I chose the option to "refund" rather than voucher. QF in their wisdom, decided they would issue a voucher anyway. I've rung them and the lady checked the conditions and agrees that it is a fully refundable fare and she put in for a complete refund. We'll see. I did note the voucher did not include the CC fee (assuming any future flights with that voucher would not attract a subsequent CC fee) so I'll see if the full refund includes or excludes the fee.
