JohnK - Pretty sure your daughter would benefit most from your time and care (priceless) and not physical possessions and beating yourself up in the process.
Beating myself up? Interesting way of putting it. I set high standards for myself that I struggle to meet. Good or bad I am still here.

Not to mention illegal.

He threatened to leave, I told him I was calling police - he decided to stay.

When I told the police, they were going to ticket him for unsafe lane change and also for failure to give details.

It would have been quicker and simpler for both of us if he'd just said "here's my details, see you later".

Do you have a dash cam? I think these days its a good investment and use the footage if the car has signage on social media.

But thats depending on what exactly happened, we all have stupid, dumb days sometimes but for flat out refusing to give you details after hitting you - name and shame.

Dash cam wouldn't have helped - he hit me in the rear quarter panel.

Some cams have a rear camera as well, I know hubbys does.

But you've just started your parenting journey. There's a huge time demand and time priority allocation ahead of you. That's the hard stuff.

And I'm still going to set high standards and try to juggle time.

Praying my daughter takes up golf. I'd hate to waste valuable time taking her to netball and other useless sports. At least with golf we can bond. ;)

And yes I know life's more complex than my simplistic outlook on life. Both mother and wife take every opportunity to drum it into me.

When did I say you should not set high standards? I don't see any relationship between what I've stated and lowering standards. Giving someone everything is not raising the bar.

I meant high standards for me pushka. The bar has always been high and I struggle to reach it.

A great glass of wine is needed to refocus the thoughts here.
Actually today we went out to lunch with friends who are heading to Los Angeles tonight thru Singapore then Seoul and finally Los Angeles. Quite a long cut rather than a short cut but they are in business class so they should be ok.

I pray your daughter finds a hobby that she loves, has talent and puts in time to get better every lesson. Whilst I share your passsion for golf, I'm loving watching my daughter and her friends enjoy ballet and cheerleading. You might call him useless spots but they learn skills and team building.

And yes I know life's more complex than my simplistic outlook on life. Both mother and wife take every opportunity to drum it into me.
Yes, they're right - and both females :D

My biggest issue is having change. I pay for everything on credit card and have to get cash out specifically for tips.

I never checked the bill but all the time now check for a "compulsory service charge" as a few times I have tipped on top of a tip. Many place it is automatically added on for parties of 6 or more.

London is quite like that. Most places will whack on a service charge these days.... and the machine will still ask you for one on top of what you've already paid. Buyer beware!

You were talking about a product and not a person weren't you?
