Nice work. Just a call to them complaining about the breach of agreement?

I think betty mentioned a number of posts ago that she sent a letter based on the one i had provided.

Yes, sent letter. Mentioned in message 92 on Dec 13 earlier in this thread.

Got a reply via email.

20 DEC 16HSBC CREDIT CARD 19DEC16-60,000

Just need to spend the returned $199 annual fee and then this card will be cancelled.

Still no points so the letter of complaint has been signed and sent off. I'm guessing I won't hear much for a while with the Christmas/New Year break.

after going through the hassle of the 100point ID check I was told the staff at Aus Post stuffed it up and I'd need to do it again.

Told them to just cancel my application. Think the Bankwest World Card is looking as a better option.

Oh dear. Mrs Halliday applied for this a couple of months ago and I applied today. How I wish I'd read this thread first.:(

I have screen shots of everything and will closely track relevant dates.

Here's hoping everyone else's complaining has made them lift their game.

Spent my $199 annual fee refund whilst recently in Bankgok. Paid my account balance today and have sent a letter cancelling the account.

I see that the offer has been extended to June 30.

I may reapply as there doesn't seem to be many other good offerings about at the moment. Would love another 60,000 points for free :)

I am expecting my points to be credited by the end of the week. Not sure on plans once I have them, whether to hold card for day to day 1/1 points for Visa, just cancel to get it off my books (for new applications), or cancel and apply again...

Cancel. Cancel. Cancel.

Move on immediately.

Have you done the St George card yet? It finishes tomorrow. 30,000 points. No fee.

Heck, even reapply for this same card again in a couple of weeks. But don't stay with one bank. Loyalty is dead.

I was on the St George Card a couple of years ago for 60,000 points and cancelled it on 21/01/2016. Have read the T&Cs and the current AFF thread on the card and I am not going to qualify as it is within the 1 year period :( Thanks for the suggestion though!

I have just been approved for this card.

What am I watching out for ? Late credit of bonus points? If that happens demand refund of annual fee?

That sounds good to me, I hate paying for points..

Yep. Be ready to pounce when they don't award the points on time.

Few have reported receiving bonus points within the stated time period.

Just for interest, how long did your approval take - I put my in Wednesday last week and still waiting

I found this on the HSBC site. I wonder about the use of the word ordinarily, seems to imply no obligation but simply a guide. I can't find anything in their terms that specifies that the points will be credited in 2 months, perhaps they have removed this.

"1. Bonus 60,000 Qantas Points offer is available to new HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card holders who spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within 3 months of account opening. Points will ordinarily be credited to your HSBC account within 8 weeks of making the required spend on eligible purchases"

Definite change. Used to state:

'1. Bonus 60,000 Qantas Points offer is available to new HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card holders who spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within 3 months of account approval and if your account is current and in good state. Bonus points will be credited within 2 months of eligible spend criteria being met.'

Seems they've learnt. Wonder how much pain it caused them before they made the change.

Yep - has definitely changed to make it a bit more vague! Instead of improving the process, how about we just change the wording :(

anyone has a screenshot of the old T&C? We signed up under the old rules so they still is obliged to post the points within 2 months
