Seems like they haven't learned their lesson since Ralph had his issue.

Given in 1 week I hit the 2 month period, I'm hoping someone's asleep as the helm still!

Draft your letter now. Send it on the date that the 2 months expire. That's exactly what I did and got my $199 refunded :)

60,000 sign on bonus plus the 5,000 extra points hit my QFF account this morning. :)

Saw the 18 months restriction. Do they not enforce this?
I'm thinking of signing this card as well. My first for 2017

Holy hell mmchow! Well spotted. Didn't notice that at all.

Don't know if its enforced or not. But I'm out as it's not that good a deal to take the chance (unlike the AMEX deals).

I'll be waiting out the 18 months.

Very good idea! When that date hits i'll be in the middle of two weeks off between jobs, so I will have plenty of time to harass (ask) them for additional points/refund.
Are you able to post a deidentified version of what you sent?

Betty B stated earlier in this thread that she used the draft letter I provided.

You will find a draft of the letter I sent earlier in this thread.

Yes, used the one from Dr Ralph.

I wasn't a HSBC customer and had never previously dealt with them. I applied and didn't hear a thing for a few days until I received an email saying I was approved. Odd they didn't want payslips and took me at my word as I certainly don't earn a HUGE income.

Macquarie are a pain to deal with and I'm not sure it's worth getting a card they underwrite.

Just signed my 'Dr Ralph letter'. It will be posted first thing tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.

Hmm...sent my letter the day my points were overdue. With the post being what it is nowadays, HSBC probably haven't received it yet and now the points have just posted 5 days late. Do I accept that is close enough?

Don't do it. Stand firm.

For what its worth - my points are showing in my HSBC account as ready to transfer. My two month anniversary of hitting the criteria will be on the 20th. So in my case they seem to have fulfilled their obligations.
