Given no one has ever got the points for this deal, I'd recommend you walk away now.

There are plenty of other deals out there from banks that don't make you work so hard.

I've not had any problems with Macquarie. Have had multiple cards with them.

However others have reported them to be tough on lending criteria.

Ive found Amex the easiest in terms of lending criteria. They didn't even ask me to substantiate my income during my most recent application. And they didn't check my Veda either.

Yeh I have always had good experiences with regards to Amex. I'll try for Macquarie tomorrow and see how I go.

If your next application isn't successful give things a rest for a few months.

Yeh I think that if Macquarie declines me I'll wait 4-5 months before getting back into it. Having recently switched utilities providers as well, I have gotten credit hits for that so I think all these credit checks must be causing some issues unfortunately. Because I satisfy the financial requirements and I have never had any defaults/bankruptcies and have always paid my bills on time. I still don't understand what's taking us so long to implement comprehensive credit reporting! It really is frustrating.

The matter was quickly resolved once it got to the right people at HSBC.

I continue to encourage others impacted by HSBC's failure to award bonus points in accordance with the terms of their offer to lodge a complaint. There is every chance that you will also get the fee refund. 60,000 points for $0 is worth the small effort it will take.

The matter was quickly resolved once it got to the right people at HSBC.

I continue to encourage others impacted by HSBC's failure to award bonus points in accordance with the terms of their offer to lodge a complaint. There is ever chance that you will also get the bonus points. 60,000 points for $0 is worth the small effort it will take.

I sent a letter through net banking and got a "we will respond within 2 days", that was 3 days ago. I'll be escalating this today.

Interesting how this thread has transpired. Thanks for your effort Ralph. I have this card and I also enjoy giving it to the banks (especially when they're legally in the wrong).

I'm sure I hit the required spend within a few weeks and now I'm going to comb through my statement. To clarify - in THEIR wording, I should have the 60k points in my account 2 calendar months from the date of me spending $3,000 on my card (not including the annual fee). If this is the case I'll certainly be chasing the compensation with them waiving the annual fee.

Funnily enough I was thinking today how poor their website and phone customer service is.
