Hi

I am flying Syd Hong Kong on 12.01.17 on QF127 ( A380) and have 13J in upper deck but can get 1A on lower deck ( single seating). usually take the upper deck on 747 but was wondering if anyone has any comments on upper or lower deck. I was going to upgrade to F with points but no F on this flight either :-( oh well some day lol

Thanks
Maureeng

If this is an A380 flight, then 1A would be a first class seat! Definitely a better choice!! :)

as others have said, grab 1A. if for some reason there's an aircraft substitution you still have a great seat.

there is little if anything 'special' about the upper deck on the a380. The forward WCs are big, but it's basically just an a330 stuck on top of the main deck... no quiet separate cabin like the 747.

lower deck on the a380 wins for cabin width and generally more sense of space because of it.

Thanks. I got 1A and when I called Qantas to request it I was told its def A380 . When I first saw it was A380 I tried to upgrade to F with points but no F on the Syd to HK route. Still a first seat will do lol

I flew 1A from Lhr to Syd in May....I could hear the toilet flushing all flight when I didn't have my ear phones on...I personally won't choose it again.

You wouldn't choose 1A over business class seat?!

I flew QF128 in J earlier this year. It's an old product, the bed was not flat and kept dropping, very uncomfortable to sleep and off course you have seatmate... Even if 1A gets some flush noise it's much more private and transforms into one of the most comfortable beds in the air.

I would choose another F seat ;)

I'd choose 1A even if it were a 747. At least that might protect you if they subbed a non-refurbed bird, as they did with my last SYD-SFO trip.
