That was the order on request menu you were looking at, and the chef built the plate in front of you. So you could have said "hold the chilli" if you didnt want it. Despite that made to order selection, they also had a hot chicken choice (displayed in the first picture) and a hot vegetable choice. So in my opinion no "idiots" there, just a great selection and comfortable environment that fully fits the description of the a high quality lounge.

I actually love chilli. My point is the OP puts his penchants above everyone elses.

Just expressing what i consider to be a better presentation of offerings to the membership than we are getting here in Oz. On a side note if you are dining in asia i would expect at least one chilli dish on offer.

Lastly i am not seeking to put my preferences above everyone else, i am asking for additional choices.

i must say that the overall offerings at the Qantas Lounges is much better than offerings in many other airline lounges - especially those US ones.

Can't comment on QF, but I went through the NZ lounge in Sydney a couple of months back and thought the food offering was really good. Several hot options, all pretty tasty, plenty of snacks, desserts etc. I was impressed. I've been impressed with food in EK lounges in BNE and PER as well. I wish I could say the same about the SQ lounges...

If you don't like chilli or curry then very few options. And no I am not a vegetarian.

Not that difficult to have some sort of steak and provide chilli and curry on the side for those that want it.

Thats why curry was invented so cheaper cuts of protein could be used with the curry as an embellishment or masking agent...:shock:. Meat suitable to be used as a steak would be too expensive for a lounge. Even F lounge offerings use budget cuts.

I have to try and scrape the curry off the meat so I can eat a couple of pieces of meat in BNE on a Friday afternoon. The gunk that is left on the plate needs to be seen to be believed.

It was fairly full so I don't think there had been much picking.

That sounds better than anything I've ever seen in Wing F. Was it from the buffet or a la carte? I'm a Pier F man myself now - the extra walk burns the equivalent calories of at least 3 or 4 glasses of bubbly, right?

Recent trip abroad seen me visit the Qantas business lounge at Sydney airport. I was thinking Sydney wouldn't be serving the same coughpy lamb dishes Melbourne does - but sure enough i walked in to find another horrible lamb dish called "Arabic lamb". Absolute cough food again.


This time however i was travelling on Emirates so i was able to walk over to the Emirates lounge (an Arabic Airline) and found an amazing assortment of food (Chicken, fish, Beef) - well done Emirates. I will post this under the Emirates listing on the forum too so please excuse the double post.
