Searching classic award flights departing DOH

Is it just me, or is it not possible to use the Qantas website to search classic award flights where the departing city is DOH? When entering DOH in the departing city I get no results. I can fly to DOH, but cannot depart from there.

What gives?

Looks like Doha can't be done online. When I click the box 'can't see your city' to expand the cities to book from Doha doesn't appear.

If you select the region of Middle East the only cities that appear are Dubai, Abu Dhabi & Al Ain in the UAE and Amman in Jordan.

2 of the better OW airlines, arguably the worlds best First only lounge at DOH (Al-Safwa) and one of the best Business class out there in terms of hard product and service (QR).


OP, I think you may have to book these classic awards over the phone? same goes for MH also.

Thanks for the feedback. At the moment, I'm just trying to find flight availability sector by sector. I asked QF about this on Twitter and their response:

Hmm, this is unusual David. DM us your intended itinerary so we can search availability for you on our end.

I responded and asked if this issue will be fixed and pointed out that it isn't so "unusual".

Their award search engine is pretty good and will show OW partners that don't show up on QF

Already done that. BA doesn't show RJ award availability unfortunately (which happened to be what I was looking for).

Right you are. If I recall correctly I think AA shows RJ award availability.

To try and find availablity with the search engine you can input the reverse route and do it as a return. Eg to see if doh-adl is available try searching adl-doh return and you can at least see. Then call and book the one way and ask for award assistance fee waiver due to poor website

Thank you for the offer. I was looking at DOH to AMM on RJ (QR only has Y and F). I managed to find what I needed by a bit of luck in the end. Ie, searching ADL to AMM. Was painful.
