Qantas Assure

Agree. I was just about to say the same thing. Qantas regularly bring out their Android apps way later than Apple. It doesn't really make sense given the amount of people who have Android devices.

Dos make sense though when you look at who spends the money. iOS users have the $. We make apps and android is sometimes on marginally worthwhile :)

OT but that is what I was thinking. I'm sure it relates to the number of users involved but I don't really know.

If you have have signed up for Qantas Assure and do not have an iPhone, just call Qantas and they will issue you on a fortnightly basis the average amount of points earned from those able to use the app. Below is a part of a response from a Qantas Manager when I queried why it was only Apple users that are able to earn the maximum 70,000 QFF points.

In the interim, as a gesture of goodwill we can offer you (and any other insured Android user who is interested in the Qantas Assure App), the average number of points earned by all users of the Qantas Assure App. These points will be credited to members every fortnight, in line with the crediting of points to users of the Qantas Assure App.

So... I can earn points through the sweat of iphone users and not have to raise a sweat myself? Too funny. Run you iphone users run!

I'm a committed 10,000 steps per day FitBit user and have earned 283 points since signing up 13 days ago (+/- 20 per day). I have also got Daughter #2 to link her fitbit, so that we can challenge each other (it earns bonus points). IMHO, if QFF want to reward me with points without a change in my/our daily behaviour, I'm very happy to oblige. :)
Certainly a way easier points earner than the troublesome tool bar!
Plus we have to have some other means of making up for the lost points seeing that ATO earn is disappearing ;)

PS If any other members want to add me as a 'friend' within the App, let me know - the 3 day step challenge is a great motivator and points earner! The more participants, the bigger the prize (up to 80pts per challenge).

So I logged on to this site with my QFF details, looked at the available policies and limits and found that my current insurer is much better value and left it at that.
Now I am being harassed by them with daily phone calls I didn't sign up for and it appears QF has provided them my mobile number. Not happy. If they call again I will be lodging a formal complaint with QF.

Did you get the bonus points a few months ago for a survey?

If so, then if I remember correctly they do have your permission.

There was something about mobile phones with the survey, which is why I didn't do it. However if after the first phone call you withdraw your permission, I do not believe they can continue phoning,

:( Just proves I'm 'out of the tent' when it comes to love from QF. Not invited to join red planet (or whatever it was called), and now... not even a marketing call from Assure despite having looking for a quote and leaving my phone number!!

Actually I joined after calling them myself.. their lines are not busy most times.. and quite good..

Don't recall taking a survey but may have. Didn't provide any contact details. I didn't take the calls as I was busy I just have multiple voicemail from them for the last 3 days.

Just because I log on to their site doesn't mean I want to receive unsolicited phone calls, nor is permission implied.

Im in the same boat. Got a quote just to see what it was like and started getting the calls, 3-4 a day. Answered a couple and told them that I wasn't interested as they weren't competitive, but im still getting the calls. Annoyingly its also a number i have received a call from Qantas in the past (presumably for a changed flight) and so i have the outbound number saved as a Qantas one. So when im away-like yesterday-I keep checking voice mail to see if my flight has been changed, only to find out its Assure.

Son of a mongoose! The premium is so much more expensive than my current insurer for the same level of cover

Me too! Had a couple of voicemail messages from them now.

Well I installed the Assure app for the 200 points. Given the competitive aspect I've discovered that iphone doesn't record steps if I'm holding the phone while walking. No more looking at screens, doing phones call - phone firmly in pocket while walking now.
Even if I can't get the Assure app earned points, this is probably a good thing.

I do use the app too.. but mine does count despite holding and walking.. I tried it many times and does count..
