Qatar business flight booked with Qantas FF pts - stopover of over 8 hours hotel?

Recently booked a business class flight from LAX to PER using Qantas ff points. I have a stopover of almost 9 hours in DOHA. Would this include a free hotel in DOHA?

I got one with Emirates a few years back but checked with Qatar and they said no because its a redemption.

Have others come across this?

Doing a similar route I was also denied due to it being redemption.

My advice: enjoy the lounge, do a free doha tour, enjoy the lounge again, and enjoy the wonderful service on the flights.

That sounds like excellent advice - I think will enjoy the free Doha tour more than the hotel. Great advice which I am certainly taking.

Yes, Cybella, you will find the DOHA lounge very indulgent - it's huge, several food stations with numerous options, great showers to freshen up, undoubtedly close to the best lounge you're ever likely to set foot in. Since you will have 9 hrs you may even want to order off their menu - something the transit times for a lot of flights don't allow for. It pays to know that the lounge does get busy in the late evenings (around 10pm - 1am) though due to the large number of overnight connections

Do it in F next time. The Al Safwa lounge in DOH provides sleeping rooms. No need for a hotel.

That is true. But I would have pulled a crazy routing just to do the Al Safwa. Something like LAX-DOH-BKK-SIN-PER. Or LAX-DOH-DXB-MEL-PER. Get the EK F lounge access as well. The possibilities are endless.
