The new Qantas Pilot Uniform

They're having boots?

Wonder if it will be moleskins and blue shirt with Akubra a la John Howard

Even for a fluff piece, talking about what brand of shoes the pilots wear is pretty weak.

Probably means a lot to RM Williams. And heaven help SA - any good manufacturing story is a great story right now. Great to see local industries being promoted ahead of cheaper imported products. More Companies should do this.

Bring it on I say.

When I see people still wearing clothing from the early noughties I normally jump to the conclusion they are either a long serving public servant or a dot com billionaire. Either way I don't want them at the controls of any plane I am in. Good move I say.

Shoes have never been supplied as part of the uniform previously. Some pilots do wear RM Williams (or similar) boots. I don't.

Great to see that QF is focusing on the important issues.

You do realise that different departments do different things and not all areas do the same thing?

I don't agree at all Russ.

It's part of the big picture and something that is worth a look at. The effort involved would be a very small percentage of effort by a section of the company that's pretty much isolated for the everyday operations of the airline.

Looking forward to this tomorrow morning - apart from Straitman, Mrs Straitman and me - who else is going??

QF WP,
We have had to withdraw from this event due illness. I sent you a massage several days ago.

Hopefully it will just be an RAAF style 'green bag'...and you've seen them...although I do note that when I wrote that in their suggestions, I didn't get a reply.
