Domestic points upgrade not approved immediately

I've seen similar threads but first time it's happened to me when I am fairly sure business seats are available.
QF634 MEL-BNE Monday May 2 19:10. Flexible Y booked, gold status.
Maybe it'll come through later in the week. Chances of this happening?

There are no J award seats available. There are 4 revenue J seats available. It might come through but I wouldn't bank on it.

Keep an eye on reward seat availability. If a Business reward seat becomes available on your flight, try cancelling and re-submiting your upgrade request. Failing that, if there are any seats left on the day your upgrade will probably come through then. And if not, you can always ask in the lounge...
