Hi all

Based on redeeming from the website it seems that there is a lower price when the cabin you select is not available for certain legs of the journey? Is that correct?

Cheers.

That's my experience, yes - but you need to select the lower class option for that particular sector, otherwise you may still be charged the higher class points (the dreaded "your flight will be in economy" pop-up).

ISTR this was changed sometime in the last year or 2. They no longer price according to the high cabin class in those situations, i believe

Admittedly on a sample of 1 - I was looking at options for return to Europe last night and a Cathay option had one sector in J for about 40,000 more points than the Y sector - even though it said "Your flight will be in Economy". I was quickly looking through broad options for a friend, so not paying huge attention to the points cost, but this did stick in my mind.
