Vinomofo Wine Deals

[h=2]Re: Vinomofo Wine Deals[/h]
I couldn't find this wine on a search in this forum, but I have done investigations and am confident it is the Star Lane Vineyard Beechworth Merlot 2010

https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/...al-merlot-2010

Anyone tried it? I love merlot and am considering a case

I have 6 bottles, opened the first last night - it isnt a soft Merlot. plenty of body and spices. Im going to enjoy the small amount I have.

Thinks it's Bit O'Heaven Think Outside the Circle Cab 2014. I nearly returned this one. A very liberal 96 pts IMHO.

I removed the "do not drink for 6 months" off the hungerford hill after all this discussion and my gosh that is seriously good.

I get the pepper, but not too much, just a bit of spice on the front of the palette, it's fairly light, which is why I think I mistook it for being too young and empty previously.

Very enjoyable, and paired perfectly with an Italian sausage ragu for dinner.

Well, I will be downing another bottle of this over Easter and if I find it pepper-free I will be truly intrigued!

I finished off the bottle last night, and it stood up to the 24 hours open. It seemed to open up beautifully, there was now some licorice on the nose, and that spice was still there.

....its a ripper this one. One that could easily cope with a fifty dollar price tag, but it does offer a great alternative to the south Australian style. Luckily I had tried the previous years' vintage to give me the pedigree and it didn't disappoint. Some will of course, like that boisterous, errant son.

Gapsted Limited Release Pinot Grigio arrived today. Took a while - but at least it got here in time to get me through the long weekend. :) Not bad reviews, if I recall.

Not usually much of a white wine drinker ... but really needed something refreshing to enjoy on the back veranda after a hard days work.

VM says it's a 2013?

Edit: beaten :)

I've still got 6 bottles of this in the fridge, from memory I rated it quite highly, looking at the 3 Oceans website though I think this price drop is due to the cellar door having a bit of a fire sale of up to 60%...
