Should I stay or should I go (EuroZone)

I guess things can change in 4 months. There are more than a few women in Cologne that might have a different view.
We have to ignore those events. Those women should have stayed home and there wouldn't be an issue.

That's because they are not being charged with crimes. In Cologne from NYE there were over 350 reports of sexual harassment but not one person has been charged. In fact only one charged with the theft of a mobile phone. The official statistics are a cover up-
Didn't one of the politicians put themselves in the firing line suggesting that if the women had stayed home the attacks wouldn't have happened?

Stupidity amongst politicians isn't limited to Australia.

Yes - we have also had Western politicians use the Sheikh Halili "uncovered meat" defence to blame the victims.

Churchill was right about Islamism.

By the way Abdul, why is it that Jewish schools in Australia have 24/7 security yet we don't see the same level of security required at Muslim schools?

You have the same problems in Berlin with the Jewish shop next to KaDeWe being guarded 24/7 however I think they packed up recently. The shop is closed.

Is travel to Europe becoming the norm to expect happenings of the nature we see recently like bombings in Brussels airport, Explosions in Berlin or Paris attacks.

Those things you mention are a possibility - just as they are a possibility almost anywhere else in the world. Particularly so if you are part of the coalition bombing parts of the Middle East. It is always wise to be alert - but not alarmed. We lived with it for years in the UK. No one stayed inside paralysed with fear.

It is not the new 'norm'. It is a period we are passing through just like others.

The new norm is maybe to expect or be prepared ? For such passing through periods.

marki when you started this thread I honestly though it was a gross overreaction - I have certainly changed my view of that.

I wouldn't be 'expecting' to be involved or caught in the middle of a terrorist attack. I don't think anyone does. Should we be mindful of suspicious behaviour or unattended items? Probably wise... within the bounds of common sense.

More so now one should be mindful of suspicious behaviour or unattended items. Common sense and the bounds can vary greatly from human being to human being.

As to unattended items my packed bike which was standing near me as I could not take it with me in those ridiculous winding artificial queues created by bollards and seatbelt tapes. Yes some security person became very irate that I could have it closer i.e. closer than a meter !

So yes this is an new norm

I don't agree with your assessment nor your justification.

This is not a passing fad. This is here for the long haul. Proceed with extreme caution.

Hmm, a couple of thousand years between those comparisons .... utter rubbish!
