Frustrating Seat Selection !!!!!!!!

Hi all sitting here frustrated as anything.

Booked flights for Mrs Ansett and I to Dublin for Easter using QF website and QF Flight Numbers all booked at the same time and on the same PNR. I am WP and she is now Bronze.

Seat selection will not sit us together as I am WP and she is Bronze... What the !!!!!!!!!!

Have been trying to do seat selection since 10.00 am this morning via Qantas also checked EK site however once I hit the last seat selection and go back to booking it has separated us once again...............

On the Phone to QF and they dont know how to fix it Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Surely it cant be that damned difficult to allocate people seats together especially when one is WP.

Rant over sorry.

Never had that problem when booked on the same PNR, only if booked separately but travelling together.

Because Mrs Ansett is bronze and won't have access to the good seats.

Eventually got a lovely lady Norelle in BNE who allocated all our seats together as I had originally done. Have to say she was excellent.

Went back in 20 Minutes later and low and behold Seat Selection is saying NO seats selected. Go to selct seats and can not vget seats together even though same seats we had before are now emty and available. Now back on to Qantas.

Is it a mixed of EK and QF flights, or all EK flights?
I had exactly this problem with a QF/EK mixed booking. Needed to find the EK PNR and use their system to select seats on the EK flights. Select seats on the QF flights using the QF MMB, but skip seat selection for EK.

Also get a per tracking app like My Flights as is pretty good at seeing the seats allocated and tracking them. It'll also show both airline PNRs.

Just to add to this I'm WP and traveling from Melbourne to London with my 6 year old who is Bronze and we can't get seats together. When I phoned Qantas I was told there was nothing they can do....

This is weid. I have never had any problems with Mrs Subhapoon seating when she was Bronze.

Booking for 2 people made at same time Mrs Ansett and I have same PNR. Flights are QF Flight number operated by EK. Tried seat allocation on Both EK and QF neither stuck. Spoke to another QF customer who took almost 40 minutes and now seats finally seemed to have stuck

Last time i had qf booking on ek metal qf website made it clear you had to use ek website to select seats. Qf site always showed original seats allocated somewhere along the way but ek site always showed what was last selected on ek site and the seats i ultimately sat in.

Log into the EK website and do it that way and not go through Qantas. Emirates selections stick.

I'd worry about what the EK website says, not QF as they are the operating carrier. That being said, keep an eye on them because I've had them drop before.

I find that I need to choose seats through the EK website for EK metal flights. I guess the QF/EK systems don't talk very well.

It is possible QF and EK systems don't "talk very well", but I can GUARANTEE you that QF and LAN systems hate each other's guts and do their best to stuff up everything. Try booking a seat (even if WP) on a QF metal, LAN codeshare - absolutely impossible.

Same here. I have three QF marketed/EK operated flights coming up and I can't get my seat selection on one of them to stick via QF MMB, but can through EK MMB.

After your posts I decided to check our December bookings via Qantas. Gah! Exactly the same. MrP in the middle seat and a 'greyed' seat next to him (maybe WP shadow as rest of the plane is 'empty') and me in an aisle across the way. He would kill me. Anyways just changed the whole booking to J so we continue to be on our own.

Emirates is showing the same seats too.
