That Dr. Tim Cooper trained as a medical doctor and surgeon and later acquired qualification in brewing science. He's Chief Brewer. Impressive.

I think I tested six or seven Coopers beers straight from the bottle on Friday night. My taste buds told me that the Coopers beer is so much better than Rogers(which is awful) and Heineken. My son had a birthday and seeing I wasn't driving I was able to be a taste tester.

I liked Norman Mcilvray as a cricket commentator but my favourite was definitely John Arlott-
"A stroke of a man knocking a thistle top with a walking stick"
"Like an old lady poking with her umbrella at a wasp's nest"
"The umpire signals a bye with the air of a weary stalk"

I've been sampling Chinese beers. I tend to find Chinese beers are low on flavour (although I've always liked Tsingtao). Quite a few also have a close association with the taste profile of dishwashing water.

Watched a lot of the TDU this week - well as much as 9/WIN allowed that is. TV broadcast didn't start for many of the stages until an hour or an hour and a half into the stage. Live streaming commenced at the same time.

Then subjected to Timmy Gilbert and talking heads instead of the riders (and scenery) for what seemed like 30% of the time. Not gruntled.

Saw this in today's paper while I was going to work.

Over the weekend reading the paper and you can't always believe what is written, one of those write in articles about peoples money problems, supposedly a person had written in and had said they had 3 house loans, a well paying job and something like $60,000 in credit card debt.

I wasn't sure whether to believe someone had written it as a joke as it didn't really make sense.

Also in the travel section they listed 24 must see places in Australia, with the Great Barrier Reef being mentioned twice.

Is it OK for a grown man to cry?

Glad to see you in the lounge on Friday and glad you weren't crying, and yes it is ok to cry, not sure if you should do it in public but I guess if things are that bad you can. I may have done it once or twice on a plane in recent years.:(

Wasn't it Arlott who came up with the immortal, and dead pan:

" The bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey."

Nope, it was Brian Johnston, BBC commentator who also said this:
There's Neil Harvey standing at leg slip with his legs wide apart, waiting for a tickle

And he did not mean to say these things as a joke! He was just commentating.
