You're a legend. Sorry for the stitch up

This looks very similar to the Malaysia Airlines MHUpgrade site even the little gauge looks the same..
It's powered by Plusgrade:

Slight expansion of the program: Premium Economy now an option for Bid Now Upgrades | 20 May 2015 |
Earlier this year we launched Bid Now Upgrades, another opportunity for customers to choose the way they fly by enabling them (upon invitation) to make an offer to upgrade to Business. Further options are now available to customers to place a bid for an upgrade to Premium Economy, should their bid for an upgrade to Business be rejected. Note: Customers aren't able to make an upgrade request for Premium Economy as their primary and sole Bid Now Upgrade. |
Holding off a 20k points upgrade to U for a PER-MEL flight on an old-config A332, just to see if I get the option to Bid Now.
I wonder if the fact there's a U seat will mean it won't be offered - or if the fact I can afford 20k points will preclude it from being offered to me.
I have more than enough QFF points and my offers appear to alternate between classic upgrade and Bid now upgrades.Interestingly, I have enough points for the standard upgrade; I thought that you would only get 'Bid Now' offers if you were short of the required points.
I'm not sure this is a good thing. I put in for a points upgrade BNE to Perth earlier in the week. There is still availability in J on-line, but I received a text telling me that my points upgrade was unsuccessful. I had received an offer to 'bid' for an upgrade previously and wonder if there is a correlation. This is the first time in 4 years I have failed to get an upgrade for points when there are seats available. It's doubly disappointing as I am nursing two broken ribs and don't want to be crammed next to a an oversize passenger on the 737 QF have returned to the transcontinental route.
I'd call QFF and/or ask in the lounge
