I was fortunate to get 2 return Business class seats MEL to CDG then ATH to MEL last year for 500K points. This year it has almost tripled to 1,500,000.
Maybe I missed some changes to the system?

It does sound to me like you've selected "view in points" (which is a Points Plus Pay flight) rather than "Classic flight rewards". The Classic Reward flights should be much cheaper.

The cost of classic rewards has not tripled (or increased at all since last year) as far as I'm aware. Perhaps check again? Or if you continue to have problems, maybe post a screenshot here so we can "troubleshoot"?

2x return business class tickets to Europe should still be a little over 500,000 points if booked as a Classic flight reward.

Thanks Mattg,
I have just revisited the booking page and I was initially pricing the dollar cost and did select view in points not knowing there was a difference.

Glad you worked it out. That one is a bit of a trap for new players.

Enjoy your trip. :)
