Sheraton Hokkaido Dec 31 - Jan 3 selling rooms for $1000 cash per night.

Just picked up 3 nights for 21000 StarPoints (around $240) per night.

Seems to be lots of availability for both Sheraton and Tribune property up there for any last minute NYE plans!

I'll be at the Trubute Kiroro next year in Jan for a couple of nights, checking out the local slopes. I'll let you know my thoughts.

They seem to have changed the category for one of the hotels because they are both the same points cost. Figured I might as well stay at a Tribute, it seems to be the better property?

I'll certainly be interested to hear about your experience.
We originally had the Tribute (formally Piano) Hotel booked via a travel agent. When I saw that it was available on the Starwood website we cancelled without penalty and I rebooked myself.
The Sheraton is ski-in ski-out and it looks like it has been refurbished over the summer. Also has King beds which is really unusual in Japan.

Yeah, I was somewhat torn between both the properties. It came down to the room types for me. Tributes entry level rooms are 2 x single beds. Sheraton was heavily booked and I was therefore able to book a higher category room (preferred bed type - King) at the same 7000 point rate. I will do a report on the trip and check out the Tribute for others if they are interested. Is there a "sister" property arrangement between the 3 properties where you can use each of the different onsens? Mr Qantas21 would be stoked!

Hmm. So one isn't ski-in ski-out? Is it further away? I'm happy to cancel, need twin beds anyway though so that bit doesn't matter

I had one in December and kept checking. Alas, in their terms and conditions of the promo it states points will post 2-4 weeks after the promotion has ended, i.e. Dec 31. IIRC.
