I think this episode was actually much stronger than the first one.
I really enjoyed the human side of QF7 and I suppose the John Martin stuff is cute and will rate well.

Better ep than last week. How disintetested did the QF7 crew look during the CSMs briefing?!
The problem with this show is they dont have much actual drama happening so theyre forced to try to make routine decisions dramatic. That medical emergency was routine to the point of being dull but they made as though an engine was on fire!

I'm glad you thought that !!
I heard "defibrillator used" and then "suspected stroke" and my spidey senses were on overdrive for medical impossibilities. Once they announced the passengers name I knew it was a load of cow manure

When they say "defibrillator used", they mean that it was taken out of the cupboard. :)

I see RooFlyer is getting close to his 1000th flight...

Made me update my openflights list, by direct import from TripIt (had to fix up the Sydney - Longreach flight but the rest imported very easily) - nearing on 500

- 206 on Qantas and 231 on Qantas Group (25 flights on JQ/3K)

Whilst I do congratulate Mr Martin,
(and he has been doing a lot of flights in the few months up to July 2015 when that ep was filmed)..

I did note Flight 992 was actually a JQ 787 flight SYD-MEL (recorded Syd-Mlb, yet IATA is used for others)
And he also counts an Antartica charter up page.

I would not be surprised if it was actually a drunk passenger who passed out. He seemed quite cheerful after being offloaded.

Ad time was greater than showtime so not a lot to see.

Alas, countless Ansett flights ~1975 - collapse forever lost :(

They call a pilot to try and fixed a toilet door handle that's come off?

Will the crises never end?

I know that's what we were shown... but surely it can't be???? There must have been more to it? (Like the captain thinking 'if another toilet or two go out of service we might need to divert so I'll also try and fix this'?)

If it is actually true... that somewhat changes my view of QF cabin crew being able to handle a true emergency situation.

I haven't seen the episode, but cabin crew are not allowed to fix anything on the aircraft.

It was just the slider that says occupied or vacant. Surely someone on board would have a bright can do attitude and a solution to a potential turn back situation. Australians are known bush fixes.

That's one of the things that contributed to the silliness of the program for me.

* Toilet door lock not working

* Call pilot to fix!

* Gasp - can't be fixed; mark toilet as unserviceable; any more and we'll have to divert!!

Also - calling the pilots twice to report pax drinking their own grog? I get that it isn't a trivial thing, and it may be a QF 'rule', but surely the CSM is the appropriate authority to hold this info, until maybe it is shown to be a genuine problem emerging? This was, of course, Qantas using the program to "send a message" to the great un-washed. Hardly sophisticated.

Also, does anyone know of passengers within view were informed about that fixed camera on one of the bulkheads?
