Hi Guys,

I'm after advice on what the best way to pay for an upgrade on an international flight - bought discount seats, but thinking of paying to upgrade to PE as don't have enough points and would like it guaranteed.

Is it just a matter of paying the difference should the seats be available (6 in total) and what are the fees associated with it. Can a travel agent do the upgrade or do you have to go straight to Qantas?

New area for me.

Thanks
Mattj

I don't think Qantas really have a system in place for confirmed, paid upgrades ahead of time. I think you would need to change your ticket/s, and pay any applicable fare difference and/or change fees. Don't expect it to be cheap...

If you do want to go down that path, your travel agent should be able to make the changes.

Thanks Mattg, $60 pp change fee to ticket, and not many seats left so pretty expensive according to Qantas call centre.

As long as price difference is reasonable do it...

If you are paying a change fee anyway, you may want to consider changing to another flight where there are more seats (so they are not as expensive).
