EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

So last week Lady Cool Cat and I took advantage of a double points offer which came out of the blue ( no offers from Woolies in months).

We spent $280 last week ( and no cat food was purchased by the way:) ) and today I receive an offer for 500 points for a $75 spend.

Things are certainly looking up, although if those points get 'enhanced' and are no longer Qantas points when Woolies announces changes to their loyalty program our shopping habits will continue to change.

250 for $50. Going to give it a miss this week (after 500 for $30 last week). My local Woolies is getting a refurb whilst still trading, and it's an awful place to shop at the moment.

I got the 500 points for $75 spend offer - another one for the delete button, seeing as my average Woolies spend is around the $30 mark.

You can claim 2 or more everyday rewards offers on the same transaction provided you use the correct card, meet the right targets and fit in with the expiry dates. A $75 transaction would qualify for both the $75 offer and the $50 offer(I'm just going from memory here on the target for the other offer).
I will give it a go. Both offers expire Sunday.

me $160 = 750 points
Hubby $120 = 500 points.

Will stock up on dog food again for work so will complete both tomorrow.

Our Coles shop seems to cost up to $20 a week more when buying the standard items we need each week. Some items more expensive, some cheaper, but overall it costs more every time.

Nothing to do with location of chocolate to check outs?

$50 / 250 points here.

My problem at Coles is that they have almost always run out of at least 1-2 items that I want and I end up needing to go elsewhere anyway to finish my shopping. But they are $1.30 cheaper than WW on my favourite yogurt.

If something is in the weekly catalogue as a good special I can usually guarantee that it will not be available by the weekend.

That is why I have a good collection of "rain checks" from both Coles and WoW.

Even better they now last for 12 months.

In August I cashed in 2 x RCs for evil food that was on a Friday special in Aug 2014 at 70% off. So REWARDING!
Unfortunately the plan to ration the 9 of them to 1 a fortnight only lasted 3 weeks - there is a downside....Self-imposed exile from buying them until Feb 2016, counting the days.

Nothing better than having an item on special whenever you want to stock up again!

PS: For those arbitragers out there - a quick 5 minute stop at Coles/WoW on a Tuesday afternoon/evening is a great time to stock up.

Stock up on RCs that is.

A rain check is for any advertised (catalogue/TV/poster at shop) special unless it is specifically marketed as 'limited quantity available'.

Have about 5 RCs across both at the moment. Nothing particularly worthwhile so far this month.

Have not shopped at WOW in long time.
Got the 5% gift card via cashrewards and paid via AMEX.
Went to purchase goods.......The things I wanted OUT OF STOCK in store WTF and higher price than COLES that were in stock!
Got home....email "glad to have you back 250pts if spend $50 in next three days" ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Then opened WOW Shareholder pack and spend $100 get $10 off purchase coupon....
Back to cashrewards and the basics...time to stock up!

You should be able to use the gift card in WW. You just enter the code. I have never had a problem.

This happens all the time with our local Woolworths - and never mind not being available by the weekend, I'll drop in on a Wednesday afternoon on my way home from work to find, quite regularly, that at least several of the good specials are already out of stock. There's no way I could leave doing my shopping until the weekend, as by that time I'd never be able to get ANYTHING that's on special!

I got a "spend $100 for 500 bonus points" offer this weekend and thought I might as well use it.

I calculated everything perfectly so that when I got to the checkout, the total came to $100.03.

It all seemed to be working perfectly until the lady at the checkout scanned a "$10 off" offer that brought the total to $90.03! I scrambled to the nearest aisle to find something to top up my shop and returned briskly to the checkout with a $10 box of wine glasses.

All seemed well again until my EDR card was scanned. The card gave me an extra $2 or so off my shop! The horror! I added a chocolate bar - still 10c short. Threw in another chocolate and all good. Phew.

So, I got my 500 points in the end. The only problem is that now the checkout lady and people in the queue behind me all think I'm crazy. (Perhaps they're not wrong...) The struggle is real!
