It seems from reading a few different threads including this one http://www.australianfrequentflyer....hhonors-gold-diamond-velocity-gold-32478.html that velocity elite members are having issues getting their partner benefit with Hilton Honors.
My case is not as extreme as some others. I opted in to HH gold on 19/3/2014 and this is not yet reflected in my account.
However I have had the same unsatisfactory and unhelpful customer service as others which basically consists of a Velocity CSA saying "we cant do anything about that you need to speak to Hilton" and Hilton Honors saying "we cant update your account until Velocity send us the request."
I have already cancelled one Hilton booking as I wasn't HH Gold as planned. I have stays coming up on 5/5 and 8/5 and will be cancelling them too and going with another hotel if the HH Gold status doesn't get processed by then.
