Hi Everybody,
Just wanted to reach out to the more experienced for some tips before my wife and I depart on our honeymoon. I am trying my best to pull out all the stops here to make it special
My wife and I are both WP and have a booked a RTW award, mainly in J. I just have a couple of questions, if you have any other tips please share!
Our flights are as follows MEL-LAX-YYZ stop for a week. YYZ-MIA-SXM stop for a week. SXM-MIA stop for one night. MIA-MAD-TXL stop for two nights. TXL-MUC travel for a month. FCO-VIE stop for two nights. VIE-LHR-DXB-MEL.
Not sure if I should ask this one in another forum but has anybody had experience hiring a car in St Maarten? I have heard some horror stories. Not sure if its worth it over just using taxis.
So we have about a 6 hour stopover in Madrid. Will they check our bags through after clearing customs? Is it worth trying to head out? It would be great to head out for some tapas if we have time.
I'm pretty familiar with the North American part of the trip but wasn't sure what the lounges are like in Europe. Which is the better lounge at LHR, Qantas or BA?
Also I probably know the answer to this one but is it possible to upgrade any of these legs to first with Qantas? Not sure if there is every a chance at the airport etc? It would be a nice surprise but AFAIK it isn't possible.
I have a learnt a lot over the years on here, so I'm sure anything you can suggest will be a great help!
