Vinomofo Wine Deals

Seems my mum cracked a bottle of Mule tonight despite being told it was a keeper. Verdict is very smooth. Will be hard to stop her drinking the rest.

Since there is no current Black Market or Secret Deal of interest, here's some Pinot deals.
The Essenze Pinot is quite good and from Central Otago.

Its the Essenze Flagship ($57 for the non-secret version at DM) for those that were not aware or had forgotten
Good timing as I'm running out of Pinots.

WineMarket Mystery Tassie Pinot from $575/dozen to $189.

Mystery Tasmanian Pinot Noir 2012 (12 Bottles)

Rocket (since you are from Tasmania) do you know the Mystery Pinot?

Deluxe Tasmanian Pinot Noir At A Price You Won’t Believe

All hail the winemaker who’s passed on this mystery deal! The quality of fruit is unbelievable, the pedigree is top-notch and the price right now is the best you’ll ever see this kind of Pinot.
The Bottom Line

  • Just $15.75 a bottle as a mystery- Down from an RRP of $47.99!
  • 92 Points from James Halliday
  • Winner of 6 medals (and counting!)
  • The coolest climate growing region in the country
  • Absolutely top-shelf Pinot Noir
  • Will cellar another decade if desired
  • FREE DELIVERY!
Can’t show you the label at this price, but the maker is one of Tasmania’s finest; the entire range regularly pulls in huge scores from critics and has a seemingly insatiable thirst for winning Trophies and Medals.
On top of the princely 92 Points from Mr Halliday, this vintage has picked up a Gold Medal, A Silver, and four Bronze so far, to add to the label’s impressive swag of accolades for previous vintages.
At 14% alcohol t’s a Pinot that punches slightly harder than some contemporaries, but still shows an abundance of the elegance, restraint and subtlety that the style is lorded for.
The coolest climate in Australia, and probably the best deal on any Pinot in the industry right now.

Maybe the Morilla Muse?

If VM's still around in 10 years. :)
My practice, open a bottle soonest.
Should I get more?
BTW I have yet to return any purchase (from VM or others). Just can't bring myself to do it.

A 2014 vintage release almost 12 months later. Less than 12 months in barrel.
Is it GOOD or BAD.

Some research into Gateway Vineyard. Bekkers syrah fruits also from here but $110 a bottle!!
Mr. Riggs Shiraz fruits partly from here as well, rrp $50. So Mule is in good company.
However Bekkers and Mr Riggs current release is 2012.

So a tasting is certainly required for Mule 2014 to ascertain whether to buy MORE or PASS.
GO on open one and let us know. :)

OK, OK, I'm convinced. I will open a Mule and see how well it kicks.
Might take a couple to Currie on Curry and see what the crowd think. 18 opinions is better then 1, right?

A good pinot is perfect for those nights where you want a red that easier to drink than a shiraz or cabernet. Not to say there aren't bad pinots, but good pinot is good.

**** will stinks more if not disposed. :p
jasonking, you are spot on with that as well...and the more that you think you have the $#% lying around, the more unhappy you are likely to be. I used to buy a bit thru graysonline last year. returned a few. Found some unbelievable stuff there as well....such as Briarose w.a.cabernet, some Monterra Pinot from s.a., and also the best white deal in my life...something i had never tasted, or heard of trhe grape type before, a 2010 bianco d'alessano from north victoria. One dollar and twelve cents a bot for a trophy winning, obviously unknown at the time but a 9/10er...stocked up a plenty !! however, i did return to grays at least 5-6 cases of #$%^.No charge on those. All these companies have great returns policies.

I remember the good 'ol days like 2 weeks ago before that VM dude came on here squealing about the wines being named that AFFers actually named the wines instead of this nick name secret lingo double speak that is going on - any body know what the VIM Secret Deal 2011 WA Shiraz is that's on offer today? $50 down to $17.50?

All this code stuff is doing my head in!

come on Cruiser, be a little lateral..even a silly bugger like me can deduce what's going on..it's a bit of fun, and obviously anything under twenty bucks is in everyone's scope...i too got the 00 palindronic swing....madam i'm adam.....glenelg...rotor.....but if you dont like the double zero, call VM.

Hear hear!

Dunno, doesn't seem much different to the secret code used for the recently deceased golden AA status runs.

I have gone through GraysOnLine some years ago. Have purchase some goodies eg R Wines, Chateau Chateau (also from R Wines and came with timber cases).
Only a few but too few to mention are bad. Presently most wines are made specially for Grays. Stopped visiting for a long while now.
No real bargains or surprises anymore.
BTW I still have heaps from Grays in my cellar.

I thought it was ok to discuss what a wine was, just not confirm it on receipt.

GW gave the 2011 AP reserve shiraz 87. All Winefront reviews are available free for the moment via the excellent Wineosphere app.

I think jk's $10 price closer to actual value - I gave 4 away yesterday - opened one to sample - so still have 7 pretty interesting gifts to dispense over next couple months.

penegal? cove? remember I promised you dudes a little gift next time I saw you?

Cruiser Elite - As you know, we share the same sophisticated tastes in many important things in life - Beer, Airlines, Champagne, Women and Wine... As such, I highly doubt your VM "seconds" will be a well received gift. However I am never one to be rude, so I shall graciously accept your gift and then immediately re-gift it to the young lass whom we are forbidden from referring by a colour other than white.

Yes I know - but you dudes need to make allowances for some of us who occasionally wag classes - like if you o/s for a week or 10 days - hey penegal?

I am also rather confused by all these silly cryptic crosswords. I am still trying to work out who the murderer is...

Was it Colonial Mustard in the Dining Room with the Sh!tty Shiraz?

Perhaps it was Professor Plum in the Conservatory with some coughpy Cabernet?

I know, it was Mrs White in the Hall with some Wicked Welschriesling...
