Just a thought - is there an airline policy to seat single males together?
Took a quick trip Brisbane/Darwin return last week (Tiger) and noticed on each leg my two seat companions were also middle age males, each travelling alone. I understand the policy re children, but wonder if it also applies with women.
Hadn't noticed before, as usually accompanied by wife.
I guess it would depend on the airline but in the case of Tiger, as they don't accept UM's on their flights why would they care who sits where? I'm sure it's a case of more males travelling on that flight, possibly self funded FIFO travel to/from DRW.
I remember talking to a lady who had travelled on Royal Brunei (during Ramadan) between BWN & LHR and the airline separated her from her husband despite being on the same pnr & sat all males up the front of economy & all females down the back so it was obvious they didn't want any mingling of the sexes.
