Never been diverted to ONT, but I have flown into and out of there in the past.

The terminal is quite modern and decent and reminds me of how ADL is laid out.

It's likely double the size of ADL - with perhaps a similar number of flights. Very quiet for those used to the bustle of LAX/ORD/ATL/MIA etc.

Some years ago it was a good YUPP origin/destination.;)
 
I'm actually going to ONT next month, it would actually benefit me to land here than lax.

Much of the aeroplane traffic at ONTis freight.

Maybe a quarter of the freightvolume of LAX, but more on dedicated Freight aircraft with operators including UPS, FedEx, Ameriflight, West Air and Empire Airlines.

When laden those craft need long runways - ONT has two, one 12,000 ft, and the other 10,000 ... plenty of room for 388's ...
