Anyone else receive complimentary points lately?

Just checked my Activity Statement and noticed that I have recently received 1,000 points and the description reads:
ENTERTAINMENT BONUS WITH OUR COMPLIMENTS.

This is a first for me and the description doesn't tell me a lot.. Is anyone able to enlighten me as to why I may have received this bonus?

Just thought I'd check here before contacting Qantas...
 
Been on an A330 without IFE lately? I know they have been giving some folk 1,000 points when they score an IFEless A330.

You could be onto something basso..just checked my son's account and he was also credited with a bonus..(we flew earlier this week..his fare was a FF, mine was a paid fare)..no individual IFE onboard but I did notice a few poorly positioned overhead screens on our flight...luckily we had our tablets ( I quite like the IPad holders on the backs of headrests).

Strange thing is that the bonus description also lists a date of 19OCT2014 for both of us.. we didn't fly at all in October.. anyway, not complaining about the freebies.

That could the processing date for points posted manually. I get that sometimes when there are adjustments made.

Yep I have. It was on a PER-BNE flight where the system was out. I was given 1000 pts and the description was same.

Didn't both me... Had a laptop full of things to do! :)
 
Hmmm. I catch QF767 (BNE -> PER) about once a fortnight on average and it's only had those coughpy overhead screens on all but a couple of those flights for at least the past few months. No email and no points for me. :(

When did you receive that email, mannej, and when was the relevant flight?

From a colleague - I'll see if I get the same email when I catch 650/767 in a couple of weeks.

I don't often get pleasant surprises from Qantas..the recent status drop to celebrate my 21st QFF anniversary sticks in my mind..(I was sure I maintained a good average over the past 15 years even though I had a lean 2014) Oh well, as Con the fruiterer's wife used to say..."I no complain..."

I just received the email for a flight tomorrow.

It came from "Qantas Proactive Customer Communicator"
