Where's the 1 SC gone ?

depends what the offer was.

If it said 50% bonus SCs, and they have deducted the .5, it doesn't appear legal. You have received less than the 50% advertised, promised, and contracted for.

If the bonus offer is 'up to' 50% bonus SCs, then they're within their rights.

<start rant>

So 135 SC for BKK-SYD in J

50% status bonus offer

And I get 67 SC

Rounding down seems a bit mean, come on ! What if I miss lifetime silver by 1 SC!!

<end rant>

K

If you miss lifetime silver by 1SC... then likelihood is that you're dead and wont take advantage of your one free lounge pass per year.

Alternatively, if you're short by 1SC - you're in luck! you can fly to somewhere and get some more! Then you can visit the lounge once per year.

:)

I'm not sure about this continual bagging of QF IT, considering I used to work there. Mind you, this was before a certain CIO, whose name I won't mention, decided the best thing to do was to outsource it to India. In the old days we would have stored the status credits as a floating point and not an integer so you could have had your 0.5 SC :)

Threads are only closed if there is a need to do so because they fall outside the forum rules.

Whilst you may consider a thread pointless it is quite probable that not everyone will agree.

The easy answer is to simply move on to another thread and have a thought for the mods who get to read every thread.

Some of the comments of which they actually give "likes" to. :mrgreen:

There are a number of "conventions" with respect to rounding. Some always see rounding .5 up. Some will always round so that an even number results. Some use strange methods of calculation (and/or number representation) that means the number used is internally represented as 0.49999999.... And of course, in some cases, the business analysts don't actually specify what should be done and the programmer uses the easy way out... And since it wasn't actually in the specifications, any answer passes. And then there is the IT department at QF.

Happy wandering
