The old girl (VH-OJA) is not looking good for a 25yr old

OJA still doing cameo appearances with a 12 Dec QF107/108 while hanging about in LAX on swansong holiday.

Not really, that was the planned final flight now that she is heading to the gong.

Would have been nice for the "old girl " to have done a World tour SYD-LAX-JFK-LHR-SIN-AUS

I Wonder if they are going to sell off the seats after arrival in WOL
Nah, it should have repeated its delivery flight. LAS-YVR-BFI-LHR-SYD

Yes, should be down there first week of Jan.
Damn I'll be overseas, but great that HARS are getting her. I'd love to have seen the landing.
Ah well, I'll be sure to visit sometime in late Jan and get a few pics.

Looks like HARS isn't getting OJA now... :(

I believe the Temora Aviation Museum is the only place remaining for OJA? Where else could it go?
The HARS President's comments seem a little odd.
"It's certainly a rumour and they are not getting it right or wrong."
Um... so are the rumours right or wrong? He suggests elsewhere that they're wrong, but then that aforementioned quote has thrown me.

Heard they will need to remove the seats and all extras to reduce the weight before hand.

Also, still waiting on approval to land there. (that was of a few days ago so may be updated by now)

Matt

...and then straight back into action to Tokyo on QF21

Really? Anyone know if QF have planned to slightly extend OJA's lifespan while she awaits a new home, or were they short on aircraft all of a sudden on the day of this flight?

OEI hasn't flown since late last month (C/D Check?) Other then OEG, it looks like everything would have been inflight or parked at an out station when OJA departed for NRT.

Something wrong with OEG after returning from JNB? OEI return delayed?

Aircraft should have been named John Farnham, the last farewell is dragging out, went to NRT last night.

Still going! I hoping that she's not running QF128 on Jan 6th as I've had enough old QF 747s and am hoping for a refurbished one (hope to upgrade to J on points so Skybed Mk2 would be nice...) :)

And still going. Saw her from the QP in SYD on 28th. Looked like she was being towed to the INT terminal for deployment, presumably to NRT.

Any news? I'm hoping she's not flying QF128 tonight (as much as I give her respect, I'd prefer skybed mk2...)
