QFF Website makeover [Frequent Flyer Page]

I'm not horrified by it, but I'm not impressed either. It's just poorly laid out. The circular graph in the middle is meaningless, clicking to change between calculators on the left doesn't work. Once again it seems designed by 5 year olds with an iPad and designed to make you click the wrong thing and end up parting with points or $$$.

Putting on my hat with 4 decades of IT experience I reckon have found the problem!

Back to school for the IT guys who appear to have assumed an account with 0 current SC's isn't interested in them and/or needs to learn more about them by being pointed to a page describing status benefits rather than actually showing real information (not withstanding they may already have a LT balance of over 28,000 and it's 5 days into a new "year"):
Code:
...
    <div class="[COLOR=#ff0000][B]no-status-credits cards-bg[/B][/COLOR]">
        <div class="block-grey-info-border-bottom">

I like the new look - everything I tried worked and the info looks correct.

One thing that annoys me is the lack of a functioning upgrade calculator. Even the new button links back to the zonal table, which is fine for those of us familiar with GC Mapper but probably highly confusing and pretty useless for those who don't know how to work out the mileage etc.

The advertising at the top is annoying too. Why advertise free QFF membership to an existing member?

Then clicking on to the different icons of points earn pops up the graph of earn as before, but clicking on a different icon does nothing. WTF? Oh wait, you have to click the little 'x' in the top right to close that graph, then you can click on a different icon. Rinse and repeat to view them all. Stupid, 5 year old programming again!

Comparing to the old pages, it seems they have merged the 'Your Account' and 'Your Summary' pages which I guess is a good thing. It's just the way they have gone about it is not so good.

Looks like they have given it a makeover. Just like other makeovers in the industry, it looks like functionality is the victim, getting "unable to retrieve status" messages. Its also killed award wallet functionality as well, I suspect temporarily.

Argh my anniversary date has been wound back a year !

Not any more - 404.

The new page doesn't list the total points haul for the last 12 months.
And it also doesn't specify that the values per category (in the red boxes) are for the previous 12 months.

QF have the feedback panel - they need a beta test panel too.
Could give out point rewards per bug found =D

Yeah, the link still works. Just remove the "&affId=00000000" part of the address if you clicked on the link serfty posted above.

I believe that's a recruitment tool aimed at friends and family of existing members. ;)

I agree, this is annoying.

We have
. 1 QF booking correct (Feb).
. 2 bookings lost (JQ linked for Jan & Feb).
. 1 BA booking, travelled last month, but now showing with an unrelated January date.

Who signed off on the system testing?

That is strange functionality - as you point out, some of this information is still relevant, notwithstanding you may have no SCs.

I also have one BA flight and two Air Berlin flights, all travelled in October already, showing up as future January bookings. But, these have been showing for the last 10 days, so don't think it relates to today's new update.

This bug has existed since before the page revamp. My last BA booking continued to appear with a random future departure date, even though I had already completed the flights. After the points and SCs had correctly posted to my account I had to go to Finnair MMB to manually remove my QFF number from the booking, in order to get rid of the booking in QF MMB.

Thanks. I've screenshotted a comparison of the information available above the fold on both the old and new formats, only the attachment uploader is not working.

Suffice it to say the new format is cough as no useful content is shown above the fold. This on a 1050px high screen. Whilst 'the fold' maybe a newspaper related term it is relevant to the amount of scrolling required to access useful information.

I had to edit the link - I had an s rather than an S as part of the URL. It works immediately if already logged on.

Talking about iPads aren't all web pages these days designed like this? Many previously good websites showing a snapshot of all relevant information on one laptop screen are now full of space and require scrolling , scrolling and more scrolling to see everything. On the positive for this revamp its only a relatively short scroll down to see most useful info.

The redirection url in your link from AFF is still appending "&affId=0000000" where 0000000 is an/my ID number (I assume for AFF cookie tracking).
