Apple iPhone 6 / 6 plus

Anybody experiencing in car ( Mazda in my case) Bluetooth issues with the iPhone ?
It's beginning to annoy me. After struggling to set it up day one ( the five worked a treat) the six + has decided today to stop playing. Nothing I can do ( or Mazda can do) will make it work.
Grrrr

It's bloody painful isn't it.

I have a mazda too, and it works fine if you use the steering wheel controls (+ voice prompts) but calling someone from the handset directly you have to constantly tap source until they answer to get it connected. Pain in the cough....hoping a software update fixes it.

It's been noted elsewhere that iOS 8 introduced some Bluetooth issues in the car, and a fix will presumably be on the way in the next update.

Guess What!!

The friendly folks at Apple replaced my i6 with the cracked screen from the pocket gate syndrome reported above with a new phone

I had to ask for a supervisor to do it though!!

Guess I will just have to buy a handbag now to carry it in

Pockets don't work

I had the same issues with VF Holden. Could only ring out using car screen bit phone. Inbound calls would appear from correct person on phone but would appear from my phone on car screen. Call would not hang up. Etc etc. It also had issues with our Toyota Hilux

The only thing that worked for me was reset all settings. Just be aware that you have to go through your phone and set all your settings up again!

I would try reset network settings first.

Good result.

I decided to cave in and go for the 6+ which I ordered from Dick smith last week and due for delivery on Wednesday and knowing my luck the phones were available from Apple stores the next day

Good luck with that. Optus said I'd get mine on 30th September. Nada.

FWIW I'm very happy with my iPhone 6 (128GB), gave the camera a great work out with our recent trip up to HKG. Happy to ditch the old style camera and use the phone exclusively.

Using the AFF app and the (old) iPhone worked brilliantly for me on our last 2 trips. It's a bit of a shame as I love my camera but the iPhone is just too damn handy.

Very impressed with the iphone/AFF app combo for TRs .... filing my HKG trip report on the run was extremely easy and completely unintrusive.

Amaroo, in HKG did you by any chance notice not far from the very very popular Apple store, the people sitting just outside the centre on the walkways selling boxes of phones? If so, do you know what they were up to, was it legit?

I think this is what I will need to look at and skipping a dozen generations of technology.

Yes, on the walkway between the ferries and IFC entry, pretty much in eyesight of the apple store - they looked very suss (think Euro - LV bag sellers) and didn't seem to bother security who watched on with minimal interest. We didn't bother stopping to get a price check however, from a casual glance the size of the box looked to be about double the height of my iphone 6 box. They were doing a roaring trade!

Yes, it was a bit like the obviously fake Rolexes at the night market bought by the dozen by citizens of a very large country bordering China and Poland.

I gave in as the wait time on the apple online shop said 4-5 weeks for delivery while the flagship Dick Smith had 2-3 weeks. I'm pretty sure the staff in store know me by now as I've been in there every 3rd day checking status of the phone. I did get a nice 25% off though but my patience is like melting ice every time I see someone with the plus. :p

I hope you bought wish cards from RACV for 5% off and then went to Woolies to buy DS gift cards and pick up some EDR QFF points?

Don't know if this has been mentioned but it seems Apple updates slow down older iphones.

How Apple Gets You To Buy New iPhones Over And Over Again

The headline suggests one thing and the article suggests another... Just trying to get clicks.

It's highly unlikely Apple deliberately slows down older iPhones just to get you to upgrade. The company declined to comment for this story. Instead, Apple designs the new operating systems, which have more features, take up more space and require more computing power, for the new iPhones. And a consequence of that is they don't work as well on older iPhones.

Dropped mine today in the office lobby (wet hands from being in the rain - it slipped right out). Did not fare well - the screen has produced some rather intricate patterns of the "smashed glass" variety.

I've owned the 3G, 4, 4S, 5, 5S and now 6 - this is the first one of mine to smash. Rather disappointing!

I saw you mentioned a cost to fix on Facebook, do you have AppleCare+?
