Apple iPhone 6 / 6 plus

I have Optus facebook reps calling me every other day. Which is nice. But. They have no idea when stocks are arriving.

I wonder if the phones at DS arrived last week...

As for Optus, still waiting;)

I took a friend of mines that dropped his and smashed screen to Bondi Apple Store for a screen replacement which is around $120. The issue is that they don't do screen replacements yet and so gave a new phone instead. Worth a shot if you are near an Apple Store

Sorry, I didn't get notifications for this thread.

This is what I did - at the Broadway store :D

(I don't have AppleCare+)

I can't find the IOS8 thread to post there, but how the heck can I get rid of the "sign into iCloud" message I get many times a day. It's completely off and I don't want if.

Yay. Got my new iPhone 6. I posted on Optus Facebook page around three weeks ago that the order hadn't arrived. A member of the social team contacted me every few days with an update. Then last week he rang again and said he had three phones and was sending me one. Only problem was that it was a 128 gb and not the 64 gb I'd ordered. BUT he was crediting me each month the difference between the two. Sweet.

Now I've got all my photos, favourite movies and music on it and it's got around 80 gb still free!

And I also got rid of that stupid iCloud reminder log in that kept popping up.

Cruiserette received her new iPhone 6+ last week - we set it up Sat night - big step up from her 4S - like a kid with a new toy -- the look of joy on her face is priceless. She does huge amt driving daily to / fro contracts - the view of the GPS is FABULOUS - of course we had to but a new Desigual bag in NY when we were there a month back to accomodate it - iPhone 6+ is just a beautiful device and a dream to use - too big for me but I can now clearly understand why people buy these mini tablets.

Now that many of you have had a chance to use your 6 or 6plus for an extended period would you:

recommend the same model,
recommend the other new model
recommend your previous handset (state what it was please!).

Time for the straw poll!

I went for an iPhone 6 and don't have any regrets about not going for the 6 plus which I think is just too big for my needs/hands/pockets etc. Previous phone was an iPhone 4.

6 and very happy. Came back after two years flirting with Samsung.

For those not following my trip report, I am a sunset person. But my phone started doing this:

I took it into a genius store today and was able to replicate the spots by shining it into the lights.

Then the techie tried it on his phone. Same thing.

Then the store sample phone. Same two dots at the exact same place.

They were happy to replace the camera on the phone but figured there was no point unless it gets worse.

So it's a lens issue.

Try yours by holding it up to a bright light or sunset.

Got a 6 Plus, my first iPhone and pleased with it. Larger than I thought it would be, but got used to it. Extends the use of the phone for web page etc viewing before you have to revert to iPad or laptop.

Would recommend it to Samsung users, although I was on a S2 which wasn't great anyway.

I'm not sure. Lens refraction error?
My phone didn't do it from the beginning. But the three phones tested today all did it.

If several of you can't reproduce it then I might get the camera replaced after all.

I had something similar in December, taking a photo of my dad playing golf facing into the sun.

Yep. Like a green laser light. Seen here on the White column taken on the same night as the sunset.

It's in the same location as yours sam.

I can reproduce it every time I look into a light. Or sun.

Happens on my iPhone 6 too.

Looks like its being caused by the plastic cover over the main lens.

Try it on the internal camera which has a glass cover (the touch screen glass) instead of plastic. I get the same dot, but different flare refraction (colour).

A little bit of polarizing filter (film) or those clip-on lens extenders would help if you are concerned, but personally I like the flare effect.
