Just received an email inclusive of the following:


Take off with Status Credits on selected Qantas Classic Award flights

To take advantage of this offer, simply:

•Register and make a new eligible booking on a Qantas Classic Award flight with a QF flight number between 12.01am (AEST) 26 September and 11:59pm (AEST) 20 October 2014 and travel any time during the following travel periods:
ºQantas domestic flights: travel between 1 October 2014 and 31 January 2015;
ºQantas international flights: travel between 1 and 30 November 2014 and between 1 February and 31 March 2015.
•Include your Qantas Frequent Flyer number in your booking. If the Frequent Flyer number of any other passenger is included in the booking they will also earn Status Credits without having to register separately.

You'll earn Status Credits at the following earn rates for every eligible Qantas Classic Award flight you take:

-Domestic flights – travel in Economy will earn Status Credits at the Discount Economy earn rate and travel in Business will earn at the Flexible Economy earn rate;
-International flights – travel in Economy, Premium Economy or Business will earn Status Credits at the Economy earn rate.

Have just received an interesting offer that I will use. Looks like it is targetted.

To take advantage of this offer, simply make a new booking on an eligible Qantas Classic Award flight^ between 12:01am (AEST) 26 September and 11:59pm (AEST) 20 October 2014 and travel any time during the following travel periods:


  • Qantas domestic flights: travel between 1 October 2014 and 31 January 2015;

Both SWMBO and I both got the offer so maybe a broad target group if it is targeted.

Also received this.
Just doesn't make sense to me. Fairer and Simpler (making it harder to keep status). Now you can get SC's on classics. I know this isn't the first time that it has happened, but I am still confused as to what logic QF Loyalty are using. :confused:

Got the email and was wondering how long before it appeared on AFF. HVR just pipped at the post!

Disappointing that J only earns at economy rates, but better than nothing.

Have just booked a ticket for 19 Dec to SYD, A train trip awaits.

My wife got it, but as mentioned above, PE and Business only earn at Economy rate!! Needless to say she won't be registering nor using this offer.

Just received it too.

Can't see myself using it at this stage sadly
 
I booked an award flight literally less than an hour before this offer arrived :(

I wonder if it will still count; the T&C don't say anything about booking after you register, it just says you have to book after 12.01am 26/9 which I did...

But doesn't this mean than an X class which you'd think was discount Y is earning at Y...so there's value in the cheap ones.
 
Here's an interesting condition in the fine print:

The Status Credits earned through this promotion will count towards your tier membership, but not count towards the four flight rule for reaching or keeping your membership status

I got it as well, very unusual for some SC freebies at WP1 level.

I'll certainly use it for some of those dates next year.

We had to remove ASAs, but we'll reintroduce them now. But without the co-payment!

Status credits on classic awards, double points and double SC offers. I am failing to see how this is fairer and simpler. We now have a tapestry over which there are patches, repairs and new added tassels. it's like being in a carpet shop in a bazaar... 'don't like this carpet? Let me show you another...' (and another... and another...)

But only economy earn, even on J flights...

Nothing for me, can't be important enough.
