Qantas has revamped its first class, Neil Perry-created meals, but do the pointy-end passengers want it?

If Qantas were paying retail prices for the butter it serves its First Class passengers the company would be outlaying about $9000 a week. The airline recently added Sydney artisan butter maker Pepe Saya to the list of suppliers that form part of chef Neil Perry's menus.

Some interesting insight into the process of changing the butter used and the cost. For those of you who regularly travel in QFi F do you like the new menu or do you prefer a basic meal and lots of champagne? ;)

Wouldn't call myself a regular but here's my observations :
Can't say I've noticed much of a change. Pepe Saya butter has been served in F for a long time, it's a recent addition to Int J.
I ordered the Spanner Crab linguini on my MEL-DXB flight last week and ended up not getting it due to the crab being overcooked.
In the initial days of F on the A380 IIRC the tasting menu contained some different additions to the regular menu. Nowadays it's been simplified to be just an extra entree, choice of two mains and both a cheese and dessert course from the regular F menu.
Don't get me wrong the F food is good generally, sometimes very good and sometimes with service to match.
The planets don't always align here though.

Hi Princess - did you end up getting the option of the tasting menu on QF 10?
