I can't think of a good use for the points I'm earning at the moment. CX and SQ both have better route options internationally - what should I be doing with the points? I've got 60k at the moment, increasing at about 4-5k pm.

I used QF points to fly ADL - HK - CDG & return in J on Cathay last year.

Good value as far as I was concerned.

You can use QFF points to book the CX direct ADL - HKG flight as a partner award. IIRC it is 36,000 QFF points in Y one way.

If you have Asia Miles and book the same flight, IIRC it is 24,000 points in Y

If you pay cash for the flight you will earn twice as many Asia Miles for it as you would QFF points :shock: (assuming you book an eligible fare class).

hmm... we're planning to fly ADL-...-ICN in the next month and a bit, I might look at that. the straight up CX fares don't seem that bad, although this time I'll make sure to book a decent, SC earning class.

The point, that I got, was that SQ actually fly to ADL. Meaning there is no need to stuff around getting out of the country.

Yeah, that's it. We've got a CBA Diamond MC/AMEX, it's not bad, but if it makes more sense to earn KF / AM points, I'm happy to entertain that idea...

One of the CSRs on a recent flight was talking about how good QF is finding using SYD as a hub from a load % perspective. Yeah, that's great, but does it really make sense for BNE / MEL / ADL all to go to SYD only to fly back to SE Asia? Waste of time, waste of fuel. ADL would be a better hub!

I might burn some points for a few ADL-CBR trips, I've no idea how to submit that to our accountant. Any advice?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Oh, the points are not in QFF yet. Thought they were.
60k is bit considering you need more points to really enjoy, PE class fir eg. CX no PE from ADL.
Boil it up to 120k/150k and do a Z class award with SQ somewhere.

Do they? Thanks Anna, thought CX didn't have PE. Was on ipod earlier on today...
Ooh, then go PE. Definitely put your CC points towards QFF and get the CX flight.

Last year we got a great price in PE to HKG via SYD and the bonus was a trip on QF8 but sadly a DOM leg on the way home.
