What is a Meal in a QP or VA lounge?

The point of the thread should be obvious. There is no practical difference between the food in the Qantas and virgin domestic lounges. Despite the lack of differentiation, some people claim virgin have childish rubbish for food, and Qantas are outstanding.
I disagree. But then you knew that anyway.

Qantas Lounges (not business lounges) have more variety when it comes to food. And yes I know the spirits on offer do not count as food items unless you are an alcoholic.

I have some VA flights coming up in a few weeks so will be keen to compare again.

Thats if you assuming I fly local! 80 flights this year so far, about 6 local. So im not into comparing bread rolls in local lounges......

This thread is discussing domestic lounges. Perhaps you might like to start a thread that suits your flying habits? Not sure about the bread roll comment. No one has compared bread rolls.

Yes, I know you deny the clearly presented evidence.

Qantas Continues to Invest in Domestic Lounge Experience11 July 2014

Qantas is continuing to invest in its domestic lounge experience this week announcing enhanced menus, greater variety of dishes and a change to the look and feel of the Qantas Club buffet. The changes are centred on providing customers with a wider selection of dining options.

Qantas’ ongoing investment in the domestic lounge network demonstrates the airlines commitment to providing the best travel experience possible for our customers on the ground and in the air.

Qantas Club changes:

  • Expanded breakfast selection including boiled eggs.
  • Introduction of hot snacks in the afternoon such as oven baked fries with aioli, sweet chilli and sour cream, samosas and marinated chicken wings.
  • More frequent changes of dishes so that customers enjoy greater variety.
  • Diversified menus by port so customers travelling from one city to another experience a greater menu selection.

Business class changes:
  • Greater variety of sweet treats in the afternoon including traditional brownies, éclairs, profiteroles and honeycomb slice.
  • More frequent changes of our dishes so that customers enjoy greater variety.
  • Diversified menus by port so customers travelling from city to another experience a greater selection.

The changes follow on from Pullmans takeover of operations across Qantas Domestic Lounges marking greater personalisation of services and enhanced dining experiences.

These changes will complement existing services such as the all-day barista service, fresh juice bar in the morning, Plate of the Day and Diner in the Business Lounge.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

So the boiled eggs will bring the QP up to the level of VA for breakfast.

The afternoon hot snacks sound good :)

Re: The totally off-topic thread

How hard would it be to have scrambled eggs....

Will bring up? All these "changes" were on offer already a couple of weeks back

ADL Qantas club had boiled eggs as early as 7 May and maybe earlier. I avoid scrambled eggs.

"enhanced"? Really? I mean, REALLY?

Red Roo, did the new copy writer not get that memo?

I think it's back on the OK list given RR used it:

An enhancement to celebrate!

Qantas Cash has replaced POLi, introducing Bank Transfer as a faster way to load your funds. Reloadable Prepaid Mastercard | Prepaid Travel Card from Qantas Cash

Experience faster loads (transfers can be made in up to one business day), and members can now make salary deposits (i.e. give to their employer to pay directly).

Maybe fairer and simpler have been sin binned in its place

Re: The totally off-topic thread

The food supplied in the Qantas Lounges, is by far superior to the inedible boxed "rubbish" they call food on their flights. I am sure that most frequent business travelers like myself, fill-up in the lounge instead of eating onboard. The food supplied by charities to the dispossessed would be better than the Qantas “surprise boxes” we have to endure .

The only "surprise boxes" I can think about are the ones served for breakfast. What is wrong exactly with yogurt/muesli and a muffin? You don't really think QF should offer cooked breakfast for a couple of hours flight in Y do you?

Well .... they used to!

Hot egg dish with bacon or sausage, tomato etc. was the norm for an 8am flight between MEL and SYD ... of course that was a little while ago ... ;)
