What are the usual benefits other than upgrade that an Ambassador receives at the Sydney IC? I was told they would be in the room but I can't see anything.

Thanks for any help

I've always had a bottle of red (reasonable quality) 2or 3 types of fruit on a platter, comp upgrade to next quality room and. Free movie. Certainly shouldn't be anything less. Do what markis has said

Rarely in the room at check in ( unless you get there after 4 pm ).

I've always found, they do a room delivery run after 1 - 2pm.

Given the OP was asking at 1830, I would suggest it was missed.

on a stay a couple of month back I was missed and it turned into complimentary breakfast and delivery of the amenity the next day. not always a bad thing to be missed.

Amazing !!

Today, I actually received my very first 'targeted' email offer from IC AMB program, offering the '2 x points per $ spend in-house' deal.

You have to follow the links to 'register'.

I did however, notice the 'code' at the end of the URL. It was a '32XX' there-abouts.

Registered, but not showing on 'My Offers' so far.

It's not a targeted offer, and the 2x excludes accommodation charges, I am currently a guest in house and was interested...

Haven't seen the offer as yet but does it mean 10 points per dollar on accommodation charges and 20 on extras?

Yes:

As an InterContinental Ambassador your opinion means a great deal to us. So when you told us you would like to earn more points when you stay with us, we listened. Now, every US $1 charged to your room at InterContinental Hotels & Resorts entitles you to 10 IHG Rewards Club points.

To celebrate the new earn rate, we’re also offering double points on dining, drinks and in-room services enjoyed during your stay at InterContinental Hotels & Resorts across Asia Pacific (excluding China, Hong Kong and Taiwan), Middle East and Africa between 1 July and 31 October 2014. You’ll be earning more points than ever before. Which means that Reward Night, at any of our 4,700 IHG properties, is now even closer.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Well, if it's 'not targeted', then call it whatever ...

but my email had my name and number on it, and required me to log in and then register for the offer.

I don't understand why you would need to 'register', when they already know 'who you are' ???

Registration is just for the marketers KPIs, so they have data on who acted on the email etc.

You don't even need to be a member:

Just something I've noticed ...

Logged into the AMB Cert booking page recently ...

Sydney IC seem as if THEY are not offering KING CLUB rooms on the AMB Weekend Voucher anymore, from 2015 onward ...

Anybody say, if there was a change in Policy etc. or am I just looking up 'sold out' dates ?? ( Eg. weekends in June 2015 ? )

Most ICs have removed club rooms from inventory, its now an extra like breakfast rather than having designated rooms.

So, that would be ...

Pay for any 'room', and then the $165. ontop of the room charge, in order to have room + Club Access ?

... and AMB Weekend Cert. means get second night comp ?

is that going to mean, the Comp night is ANOTHER $165. for Club Access ??

Gee, is that then going to be room x 1 WITH AMB Weekend Cert. + $330. for the Club Access x 2 nights ??

Not as good as it 'used to be' ...

Does anyone have any experience with discount club access at IC Sydney?

$165 for one person seems a bit high.

I was comped club access recently as a Platinum AMB, but there were two likely reasons behind this... one, was that it was a stay referencing a special occasion... and two, was that they also didn't have a next level room category upgrade to offer us at check-in. They did say they could find it if we waited for some time, or later moved, but we were perfectly fine with what we had booked, regardless.

Cheers.
