Hope long have you got?

It is possible they will comp you another year based on those SC's.

You would know if this may happen about six weeks before the end of your "year".

SWMBO Qualified SG in 2011 and with 0 flights on QF was Soft landed to PS late last year. She received a pack with a PS card, 3 month QP card and a QP Invitation.

I just went from Gold to Silver with NO QF activity in the past 18 months ( a few OW flights) I just received my Silver pack with a Qantas Club card valid till end of DEC13 and a comp lounge pass valid till OCT14 ..... I have never been a Qantas Club member so this must be a special " soft landing"

From other reports here, looks like yours is just a standard SG -> PS one.

I've got a similar question, I had WP+ last year >2400 SC, due to a variety of reasons only likely to end the year at 1000 SC. Anyone had any experience of the soft land, does WP+ soft land to WP or will I need to do a Status Run to collect the approximate 200 SC.

Cheers

WP+ is not in itself a separate status level within QF ( unlike P1) so if dropped it will be to gold. Although as serfty has pointed out there is a chance that they may comp you WP at 1000.
If you have the time, points/ money and inclination and are not the gambling type then earn the other 200 SC.

Me? I'd maybe take a punt at a comp (only if I'd never previously received one)
;)

No problems dropping from WP to SG today with just 3 flights. Bit sad after years of being at the top :(

Interestingly, not one phone call, email or letter from Qantas asking why the big change (albeit temporary) in my travel. Would have thought they'd keep on top of their supposed valued customers.

Have you received a comp level requalification at WP previously?

And as per MEL_Traveller would your last few years as a platinum, when averaged to include the year just past, still have qualified you for platinum next year? (for example, you might have averaged 1600+ status credits for the last three years, which when averaged would still put you above 1200 last year and granted platinum for this next year?)

My partner had WP+ (almost exactly 2400 SCs) last year. This year she got just over 600 SCs and was comped WP. She was very happy! Last year was her first year as a WP.

My WP will expire on 31 Dec 2014 as I won't make 1200SC by then. I will make 420SC, according to Plat desk, based on my future OW travel in Sept. I have already notched up 4 QF sectors and 180SC, so will make 600SC.

I will drop to SG from 1 Jan 2015 - 31 Dec 2015. Appreciate advice as to what will happen on 1 Jan 2016, assuming I only make around 200SC during 2015.

Thoretically you will soft land to silver on 1 jan 2016. Your qantas club membership will re activate if you have it, and if you don't, you will receive three months complimentary qantas club membership. You will also get a one time qantas club lounge pass.

The he other option is that QF may decide to comp you an extra year of gold if you have travelled sufficiently over the last few years. A measure to work that out is the total number of SCs earned, divided by the number of years. If you have exceeded 600 per year, they may comp you.

You do not need four qantas flights for a soft landing.

Thanks - maybe I need another 180-200SC JASA, urgently.

I also hope to benefit from a soft landing and then a comp, but I won't be banking on it given current trends.
