Yesterday I was in the MEL F lounge and asked for my normal spa treatment, a facial and neck/shoulder massage.

I was informed that the new operator of the spa, Aurora, had a different menu and that my favourite was no longer provided. I could either have a massage or a facial. I chose the massage and it was very good, but I did miss the facial part. Still a 20 minute treatment.

Anybody else experienced the loss of their preferred treatment?

And is there a list of the new treatments available?

I had the Radiant facial at SYD yesterday and it was pretty good for an airport facial experience :)

If I'm on a miles redemption, do they phone me to make the appt the day before, or should I make it when I arrive in the F lounge?

I had a neck and scalp massage the other day and it was heavenly! I will attempt to secure the radiant facial this coming sunday. :D

Hope you're able to find a new favourite from the attached menu. :)

I quite liked the back and legs massage when it was available, looks like that is gone.
I wonder if F pax / CL pre-bookings are also enhanced to be 20 mins? Another benefit diluted..

All treatments are 20 minutes including pre-booked. They are booked in 30 minute time slots I think.
I actually think this is a good thing as more likelihood of getting a booking.
Now if they would exclude passengers on JQi domestic that would be a real enhancement :)

Sure, it would be good to have more appointments available, but where do you draw the line with what is and isn't a *sufficient* length of time for an appointment?
20 mins? 15? 10?
You could get 30 treatments in an hour if appointments were 2 mins each
People would be much more likely to get a booking then ;)

I think you draw the line at 20 mins, that's plenty of time for an express facial or massage with time to get undressed/dressed IMHO

I tried the "Melbourne Signature" last week.

Will have to work my way through the menu and find a new favourite. Unfortunately my next few departures ex-Australia are in SQ J.

As a Silver QFF I slum it in Y and can only dream of free spa treatments let alone gaining access to the F lounge but on the plus side I have more $$$$$$ to spend when I get to my destination and luxury accommodation.

If you read enough threads and stay with it all on here for a while, you will see that very few people are actually paying full price or anything very much for these F flights, lounge visits, hotel etc. Be patient, all will be revealed. :)

I agree, another change which has diluted my expectations flying with Qantas in upcoming bookings. I'm booked F ARM to LHR next Feb and was looking forward to both the 50min intestive hydrating facial and the eye contour and lip treatment, both of which will no longer be available :(. The only treatments left are massages (which I don't care for) and a 20min facial. Due to connection times in SYD (either no time in the lounge or over 4 hours, the latter being what was booked) I would prefer they retained at least one option that is longer than 20mins! Otherwise people with long connections are left with a looooot of waiting time in the lounge ...

The constant changes are both tiring and irksome. Along with this reduction of F experience, the change to the QF5/6 flights in a fortnight mean I need to leave a day earlier to keep PE as booked and now I just found that my QF codeshare Milan to DXB next month is being withdrawn and I've been switched to EKxx_ on my booking. Sigh. I am waiting for confirmation that I will still get the SCs as this will allow me to get to SG.

Will this change also mean F lounge will restrict to only one spa treatment per visit? Even when I have over 4 hours lounge time due to connections?

Not to say the new options are not good, but if I would like to have the old options outside of the airport as a paying customer, is this available anywhere?

And I do feel for those who had the 50mins options removed. Perhaps F pax should be allowed to book a double session when they get the call up? As a lowly WP, I wouldn't complain about a simple short massage or facial, but F pax should receive a little bit more love.
