Ladies, are airports, airtravel and lounges geared toward the expectations of women?

Hi Ladies and gentlemen, your comments please...
Dunno, what are the expectations of women? Perhaps if you have an issue, explain what is is?

Re: Ladies, are airports, airtravel and lounges geared toward the expectations of wom

Do VA still have the women's only VC in J? If YES then I would say 'In some instances YES' - but IMHP airlines in General could and should ramp up their catering to women's requirements. (I have 10 sisters - I am pretty well in touch with my feminine side).

TBH visiting some WCs post some other males visits can be an 'experience' to say the least. Some of you will remember the Seinfeld episode where Jerry rode in F and Elaine was down back and visited the WC mid flight? I rest my case.

Does there need to be an issue?
Then why as the question? Absolutely no explanation as to why you are asking, what you are looking for.

thats why I put this in a discussion thread.

Thats why on a flight I always put the toilet seat down after i used it. Hehe My wife was in line after me once and one time I forgot and she yelled out "put the toilet seat down". I became all of a sudden very self conscious

Why can't women leave the seat up?

As for the original question, what expectations do women have that men don't?

Surely we should start with the basic questions of what facilities should be provided at a lounge and do different genders have different requirements?

Wine on tap?

My wife and I have similar expectations when we travel (and yes, I did just ask her if, as a woman, she had any particular gripes; but the ones she thought of were the same as mine) - so I think the question of expectations is more of a reflection of your "demographic" than your gender, where "demographic" would encompass a plethora of factors including age group, dress standards, manners/courtesy, personal hygiene standards etc, to name a few.

There is one notable area where our expectations are commonly not met when we travel, however - and that is the state that some pigs leave the toilet in on planes (and I do accept that the pigs are almost certainly always male). And the problem isn't restricted to Y - even in J the same thing happens.

Bottom line is that I hate that my wife is occasionally exposed to this; which is why I would love to see separate toilets for males and females on planes.

Surely this is intended to be an ironic question, in your first question there is an implicit recognition of at least one expectation, yet your second pretends you don't know of any differences.

I have actually experienced this on a plane - but I cant remember if it was AA / JAL / Cathay but it was either business or first. And an excellent idea. It was set up with make up remover towelettes, hand cream, cologne, and flowers. Thinking about it now it must have been Cathay first ?

Yes the first question was rhetorical and a poor attempt at humour.

I don't pretend not to know of any differences but seek to increase my knowledge of what expectations women have from these facilities.

The problem with boys and girls toilets is that the girls take longer.

Does this mean that there will be a queue for girls loos?

There usually is!

Re: Ladies, are airports, airtravel and lounges geared toward the expectations of wom

I meant on airplane if they brought back on board gender specific toilets
Yes I know what you meant, but unless they increase the number of toilets (unlikely) I cant see how gender specific tolets could do anything but increase the queues. I've seen no evidence that people are quicker in aircraft toilets than they are on the ground.

I think we need to ascertain what the 'home' position of a toilet seat is? If 'home' is the seat down if men put the seat up then they should return it to its rightful position at the end of the performance.

If 'home' is the seat up then users should return it to that position after use.

Personally I don't care if men leave the seat up however I do object to them leaving it down because they're too frigging lazy to put it up then leave p!ss all over the seat for the next person to have to clean up before using it. This happened on a flight TPE/CTS by a male J class pax.
