Isn't Perth left out of dinner because the changes are actually good for them, with better earning than east coast.

I thought they are worse off with QFi cutting routes and soon to be significant deduction in earning on OW partner airlines.

West coast to Middle East and to Hong Kong/Malaysia earns more status credits than east coast (including South coast) to the same destinations. (At least according to one table)

Simpler and Fairer I think Not and how can that be given that QFi no longer have any metal out of Perth

That's partner airline SC. Apparently it's simpler so you should know how that is even possible. It seems I'm not simple enough to understand.

The fairness bit that gets me is that Adelaide is in exactly the same boat as Perth when it comes to QFi. So how in the hell does Adelaide get lumped in with the places that still have QFi services? As fair as my backside, methinks.

I think blackcat20 would need to raid mum's account as well :p

Now that mum has discovered flying J on points, I've got no chance....shot myself in the foot with that one. Otherwise I would actually have enough.

I was interested to see if it was possible to book a "Full Economy" seat BKK-SYD, under the current table; surprise, surprise, the most expensive type available is their "Flexi Saver" which only garners points and SCs at the DE rate.

I don't think I've *ever* seen a full Y fare online (for that route) via the QF site. So how would you (if you were crazy enough to want to!!) actually book such a flight using QFs website?? Seems odd that they are "encouraging" (want!!) you to book their higher classes, but aren't currently offering said classes in the first place. Or am I expected to call QF direct and get slugged a fee for the privilege of booking a higher class?

Only full Y gives you full Y SCs on BKK-SYD at today's rates. Those are pretty much impossible to book via the website on any route except TT. Even when I've managed to get seats on using the "seat guarantee" feature, it's been booked into B.

Full Y return SYD-BKK appears to be $2700+taxes. I doubt many people want to pay for that :)

Or will their new booking engine actually reflect the classes to be on offer as of July 1?

NOQ (Red e-deal) gets the lowest SCs = 30SC
KLMVS gets Economy SCs = 40SC
YBH gets full Y = 60SCs

So, for those travelling between Syd and Bkk on QF, the new tables seems to be better than what you had before (NOQKLMVSBH = 30SCs and Y = 60SCs)

Because the placement of ADL as Eastern Australia and DFW as Western US matches the EK Skywards zones.

I had a quick look and thought the earn will be worse for those flying QF in discount economy.

- Currently 30 SCs and ~4,500 points or ~9,000 points as Platinum
- With changes 30 SCs and 2,600 points or 5,200 points as Platinum

JQ starter plus again does my head in for SYD-HKT and proposed MEL-BKK

- With changes 40 SCs and 3,900 points or 7,800 points as Platinum

You can see who got the best deal out of these changes.

So... QF doesn't want us to fly on QF. They want us to fly on JQ?

Probably. I'm having a guess here, but the QF group make more money off people flying JQ than QF. JQ is lower cost base for QF. I could be wrong (probably)...

S is in the lowest fare group now and don't forget E.

Keep the context for that comment of Perth getting better earn on partner flights wrt lack of QFi flights.

This post made earlier today from someone on Facebook probably sums up where Qantas "Frequent Flyer" Program is headed!

Had a interesting thing happen to my QF Frequent Flyer points the other week..... got two emails from them updating me on my points and other things. One email told me I had 4101 points - about a fortnight later, I received one telling me I had 8101 points.... I had received 4000 points for the flights I did (DBO>SYD and return and SYD>CFS and return). I wasn't aware that you receive points for flights you do - until I was reading the Qantas in-flight magazine I had with me.... now I know this happens, I won't be taken aback. Been a QF Frequent Flyer member since June last year - will always be a Qantas flyer for as long as I fly!

Are you replying to my post or boomy's post?

JQ runs a lot of gimmick sales and this is a real easy way to earn SCs and QFF Points. I am jealous but I don't want to step on JQ aircraft.

I wonder if QF would consider offering the opportunity to purchase a Starter plus on QF flights so we could earn an extra 1,000 QFF points and 10 SCs for $19? No? Why not? You can't play favourites with JQ customers only.

It really wouldn't matter, from my experience your JQ flight would be cancelled and you would end up on a QF anyway !!!

Sorry, but some of the context around that post is missing, are they serious or is this a "LOL" moment?

Beats me if they were serious or not. This was the post a person made, unprompted, in a facebook group.
