QF PER-SIN cancelled, rebooked on Jetstar? Is this acceptable?

Also has anyone had any luck on changing to MH/CX as per their commercial policy?

Ideally would be great if they let us switch to SQ.

We were booked on Sing to Perth QF 78-- now changed to Jet Star- But, only compensated with a Sing$10 voucher each for meals !!!
Is this all that Qantas values its meals + drinks on its flights ? I think this is an insult to QFF clients. The flight is 1 hour later so we have to wait around longer now-- we should at least be given a pass into the Qantas lounge to pass the extra time. What do you think?

No to the pass - not at all. In the words of Darryl Kerrigan you are dreaming if you think a pass to the QP should be issued.

I agree that SGD10 is absolutely pathetic. Investigate your other options under the commercial policy, referred to in this thread, like re-routing and using Cathay or Malaysia.

I think you should push for travel with another OW carrier. Then you wouldn't need the vouchers.

You are also able to re-route PER-KUL-SIN on MH or PER-HKG-SIN on CX

welcome to AFF,

If you haven't already confirmed your acceptance to the change to the orange cancer, try looking at the MH/CX options. A little longer, but probably more enjoyable.
Check their schedules & find the flights that suit you & ask the CSR to change your booking.
Unless you have QF status I seriously doubt thay will even consider allowing lounge access.

The S$10 voucher will get you 1 beer and 3/4 of a pack of Pringles, or 1 wine & 1/2 pack of Pringles. Best to hang on to any small change from SIN if you stay on 3K.

I tried ALL options but as I was coming from coughet I had to overnight in KL, they offered via HK that was overnight also, then via MELB that flight left SIN at 9pm getting into PER 11am next morning so J* was the only reasonable option, I did stress that all our one world privlages had been taken away now going J*, but IMOP they didn't seem to care , what can you do they hold all the CARDS.

theres a flight from KL leaves at 9-30 am arr perth 15-00 if it suites you.

A bit awkward as we would have to get up very early to fly from Singapore to join the connection in KL to get to Perth that way.

0630 Mh flight connects. No lines at SIN so with a 20 min drive, you'd need to leave around 5am latest from your hotel. Quite an early day indeed.

When I was going thru all the options with the agent when it came to flight from KL to Perth as I was comming from coughet theagent said straight away no go as the flights meant I had to overnight in KL

What you mean a solution was inconvenient for QF? Bad luck I say, you are the customer and you are being inconvenienced by QF cancelling their service, if that solution suits you then that is an acceptable, and not unreasonable request given your travel plan. I would call up again and if given the same story would ask for that in writing/email.

The $10 voucher is truly pathetic. They should provide enough for at least a hot meal and two or three beverages, which is what QF would have provided. $10 doesn't get far on 3k these days.

I don't think it was ever double daily, more like 10 a week so some days only have one service.
