My timeline with the application for this card:
Wed 12 Mar: apply online via the Qantas link, received email stating conditional approval please provide ID and payroll documents for verification (only option given was to fax)
Thur 13 Mar: faxed all documents, 1 hour after faxing received a diferent email asking for the same documents (1 from each column) so emailed back with an extra mobile bill just to ensure they had everything
Mon 17 Mar: received a text message to call Citibank urgently, when I did (went through to a call centre) they had no knowledge as to why they wanted me to call and again just double checked I had sent through all documents. 2 hours later received the same email again asking for the same ID forms 1 from each column.

Has it been like this for everyone or ace lucky one?

Yes Sunstar320 I heard that eligible spend for the 80K points is $1000 in first 3 months.

Interesting...I applied stating conditional approval, busy with work for the next week checked emails have about 10 from citibank requesting verification, the last email states:

"I am delighted to advise that your new SIGNATURE CARD application has been approved. Everything you need to start using your account - your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and account guide - will be with you shortly."

Looks like they gave up and just approved me. Strange. Certainly not complaining.

There is no reference in the T&Cs to having to spend $1000, so not sure where this is coming from??

T&Cs that I have read state that you must make an eligible purchase within 3 months. If there are other T&Cs could someone please post them.
Definitely don't need to spend $1,000 to qualify. I've only started to use the card on a few small transactions so far and when I checked my account online, I clicked on View Rewards Points and it's showing a Rewards Points Balance of 80,045. So, it looks like everything is in order. Obviously, I'll be happy once the points are credited automatically to my QFF account, but it's looking good! :D

Good news mick.

Thats great to hear Mick. I had originally seen a comment posted on Australian Business Traveller that mentioned the $1000 eligible purchase Grab up to 100,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points with Citibank - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

This article also states that you only have to make a purchase to be eligible for the bonus points, don't see the $1000 requirement mentioned. Anyway regardless of what is written in online articles etc, it is always more reliable to check the T&Cs yourself.

As many others on here have mentioned before, when applying for these sorts of offers, it always pays to call them up to verify what deal you've signed up for once you've applied. They got mine wrong and so I now have them on file as having corrected themselves and signing me up for the right offer. It was worth the call, IMHO.

Made my first purchase on the weekend and my rewards account is showing a balance of 80043 points. Looking good so far. QFF number is in the account so the points should transfer at the end of the billing cycle.

Excellent news, zig! If you're enrolled in Qantas Rewards, it should also show "Your enrolled rewards program does not support this functionality." below your rewards balance, indicating you can't search for any other rewards. Happy days!

Do you remember during the application if you didn't get the option to choose QFF ? Does that come later or was it just me ?

Applied on Sun 9th March and received a couple of e-mails and missed calls but been extremely busy and not had a chance to look into it. Received the e-mail today telling me the cards are on the way and my application has been accepted.

Didn't have to send a spread of evidence. Only completed the online application.

Value option for me was 80k, wasn't worth the additional money for an extra 20k of points.

:D

You get the opportunity to add your QFF account details when you activate the card. The operator also reads out some information that you need to agree to about agreeing to opt out of citi rewards and accept QFF points. it is definitely not part of the application process as it is with some other credit cards.

I don't see those words mick so hopefully all is ok. There is some wording to the effect that I have QFF rewards option and points will be transferred to my QFF account 2 days after the end of the billing cycle. Will be happy when I finally see the points land in my QFF account though. :)

Returned to Oz on Mon night after a week in China - replacement Signature card waiting for me - called to activate yesterday and re-confirmed will be receiving 80K bonus QF pts and not 60K Citi rewards pts - YES - so activated and spent $1,012. Today acc shows balance of 81,012 Reward Pts - so I guess they will sweep to QFF at some date - will post when they appear in QFF acc.

How are others progressing? Is everybody 3 x double confirming bonus pts status prior to card activation?

Mad if you don't that's very good advice to save grief later on.

Not so sure myself, have actually done this a couple of times and have not been on correct plan. And in other cases have waited until points posted to verify this. In both cases what has swung it is the fact I have a copy of the terms under which I applied saved, as soon as I show them this and threatened to take to FOS they folded.

The outcomes was eventually the same in both cases, ringing in advance just gave me an extremely unpleasant half hour phone call which did not provide satsfaction, it was pdfing the web pages that saved my bacon.

Thanks for all this advice, I have taken it all on board and made copies and screenshots of everything! I was approved on Tuesday after I called them up and asked whats the delay and am now waiting for my cards in the mail. Any idea how long this will take? I fly out next Friday for 6 weeks so was hoping to have it all activated prior to leaving.

Next Friday = 28th right and not 21st? Postage usually very quick - you should have plenty time.
